UGA vs. UF from a Gator Fan

CONGRATS!!
Here is my official take on the game.
First of all, everyone here knows that I predicted a Bulldog win so I was not surprised by that. What I was surprised by, is that it was accomplished with the run. I thought Stafford would throw 40 times and have 400 yds. passing. No way did I expect the Dawgs to run the ball over 30 times. Wow! I think it’s official that Florida’s defense is absolutely terrible!
And to all the Gator fans out there that want to use Tebow’s injury as an excuse, well Tebow does not play on defense so UGA would still have hung 42 pnts. BTW, that is the second most pnts. scored against UF in 12 years (not including bowl games).
Of course hindsight is 20/20 but I have to admit that I would have liked to see Tebow sit out this game as the report is his shoulder injury was reaggravated on his first touchdown plunge and he may not be ready for this weekend against Vandy.
Lastly, whoever scheduled the bye week for UGA before this game and then a cupcake right after deserves a pay raise. I said it before, I really think the Gators dominance over the Dawgs is due to the Gators taking the bye week before this game every year. So far, there have only been two years that the Gators did not take off the week before. That is ’04 and ’07 and the Dawgs won both time. Well lick your chops, because the Gators are not taking off the week prior next year either.
The Dawgs really did me a favor as I will not be so stressed for the reast of the year. And the Gators did Dawg fans a disservice as you are now stuck with Martinez for quite a bit longer.

Hmmm, Troy is not a cupcake anymore. They are 6-2 and beat OSU as bad or worse than we did. Sandwich game, better be ready. Believe we are on a roll now though.

Yes, they are. Just not as much as some others out there.
I have predicted some good SEC upsets this year, but no way is this one of them.
Dawgs win big!

BTW, Miss_UGA.

GatorinGA, from an article I read recently, it's my understanding that the SEC games are scheduled by the SEC Admin to include open dates. The article said that head coaches can lobby the SEC for changes but have no actual control over the schedule. That was enlightening to me.

And I have to agree w/ wlayton, Troy is no cupcake eventhough they may not be as good as even a lower tier SEC team. What used to be lower tier SEC teams (Vandy, KY, SC, MSt) are not very low at all any more. The insidious disease of parity doth inflict itself everywhere.

Wow, you are right. I just googled it and found this great article worth reading www.ajc.com/sports/content/sports/uga/st...gaidleweek_1025.html

Note this quote about UGA's AD, \"... Evans said he has repeatedly lobbied the SEC office, which sets the league schedules many years in advance, to give the Bulldogs an occasional break the week before they face Florida.\"
