Caleb King tidbits

Just talked to my guy and he said that CMR stated that if the staff determines that T. Brown WON\"T be back for the AU game then they will probably play King. If they think Brown will be back then it's an option but would probably keep the redshirt on.

Also, there was an additional question asked about.....what is the sccop or \"buzz\" word on Caleb King and the answer was that he's going to be very good but is not as good as KnoMo. Thought that was a little dissapointing. Remember he broke his leg his Sr. year and they also said he has put on a little weight, which actually has been a good thing because it is muscle. Guess we'll see !!

I read an ariticle in similar vein re. CMR's position on CK losing his shirt. Of course we will defer to CMR's judgment, but I for one continue to hope that Caleb is held back.

One thing I've learned...don't believe everything you read or hear. Ya'll remember the hype about Danny Ware. IMO he didn't turn out as good as his hype. Of course only time will really tell. Even if KnoMo is better. That still leaves alot of room for CK to be very good.

At the beginning of the year, (when we were healthy) had the same thoughts about Caleb not playing this year. However, have changed my mind on this issue. With the young players these days, never for sure whether or not they will stay in school. As we all know experience is the best teacher, and at some point, Caleb is going to need to carry the pigskin. I would like to see both of these backs for the rest of this year, building on that game time experience. Reason for that, many of us believe that next year could be \"the year.\" I would point my thoughts in the direction of the Razorbacks, couple of pretty good backs there, sharing time, causing a lot of problems for opposing defenses. One added thought, if Caleb turns out to be 1/2 the back that Moreno is, ladies and gentlemen, UGA will have the running game back and we all know what that means to the passing statistics. And we do have quality at QB. Come on Slick Willie, let the Dawgs loose, a little Erk madness will produce much . . . .

I'm with ya, wlayton. I too, didn't want to see Caleb's redshirt wasted, but with TB and Lump out and neither of them being around next year, I say it's time to get him some carries.

If it means a WIN.....PLAY HIM.
