They believe that Martinez is doing ok with what he has this year (guess the \"young\" thing again).
Oh, the hell with that. David Pollack was young (sophomore) when he blew up in 2002. Tony Taylor was excellent as a freshman and would have been better as a sophomore had he not gotten the torn ACL. Jonathan Sullivan also blew up as a sophomore. Odell Thurman, Greg Blue, Thomas Davis, all sophomores when they blew up. Greg Blue's been laying hard licks since he was in Pop Warner. Youth is NOT an excuse. Van Gorder did amazing things with youth.
Now, recruiting may have something to do with it, but that's on WM as well, NOT the players recruited. And in that scheme, Pollack and Thurman and TD and Sean Jones wouldn't have done what they did, because we don't go after sacks and we don't go after INTs in this scheme. All we do is get beat on third down. We shouldn't be in the position of having to make tackles; that's not Georgia football. We should be breaking up passes, sacking the QB and pulling down INTs. You shut down the passing game like that and the run game becomes the other team's ONLY resort and you shut that mother down in the backfield. All this tackling after the catch crap is just that: CRAP.
