OK DAWG FANS!
I am finally ready to post again 6 days after the debacle on Rocky Top! Yes, it was humbling, yes, it was an embarrassment, yes, it was totally domination by the Vols. To be quite honest though, was it surprising? It shouldn't have been to any of us knowledgeable fans. Look, Tennessee came into the game like an animal trapped in the corner; scratching, clawing, & fighting for their SEC lives & literally for their head coach's job. Plus, the BYE week is CRUCIAL in the SEC. I guarantee you that top-tier teams w/a bye week have close to a 75% win percentage in SEC play. To put it way too simply, we just ran into the wrong team at the wrong time...PERIOD...now it's time to MOVE ON!
Regardless, I trust that our performance (or lack thereof) was an exception, & will not become the norm. I trust in my heart because I trust the man guiding our ship, one Mark Richt; a good-hearted man & one heck of a ball coach. Do I have questions about the rest of our coaching staff: of course I do...losing brings out the critics in all of us.
However, what I want to say to all of you loyal, rabid, lovable DAWG fans is:
\"Do not lose hope! Believe in the DAWGS! Support them through both the ups & the downs of life in the best damn conference in the land & they in turn will make you proud!\"
I have seen 1st hand what CMR led teams can do. I've been to every single home game the past 3 seasons & numerous home games in years prior. I've tasted Sugar in New Orleans in 02' & had it on the tip of my tongue again in Atlanta in 05'. I've seen the defending Nat'l Champs destroyed in Sanford in 03'. I've seen a real Dawg fight against the eventual Nt'l Champs down in Jax. last year & left beaten but PROUD of my DAWGS...I had one of the best times of my life that night partying with my red & black gear on, even after the defeat. I've had my prayers answered in the form of a 4th down SEC East clinching miracle while surrounded by Orange & Blue one cold, windy, autumn day on the Plains in 02'! I've lost my voice countless times following both tremendous victories and heartbreaking defeats!
I'll be yelling at the TV w/my fellow DAWG fans at 6:00PM tomorrow with revenge on the mind! I'll be in Jacksonville on Oct. 27 not just hoping to keep it close, I'll be expecting to WIN! I'll be in Athens Nov. 3 ready for a hard fought game but expecting to hear the CHAPEL BELL RING! I'll be in Athens on Nov. 10 for another rendition of the South's oldest rivarly ready to make it 2 IN A ROW & draw closer to even in the all-time series! I'll be in Athens on Nov. 17 with another SEC EAST TITLE on my mind! I'll be in Atlanta on Nov. 24th BARKING AT THE BEES TIL' I'M HOARSE!
LET'S GO DAWGS! HUNKER DOWN! WE GOTTA LOT TO PLAY FOR STILL!
Read Dapolla's post on \"THE EAST\"--He is 100% RIGHT--2 losses don't mean no SEC title!
Vandy will pay dearly for last year's fluke! WE get a bye week prior to Florida. Take full advantage of it & beat those hated Gators! Don't overlook Troy--they've played SEC teams before! Auburn pulled out a 4th down miracle before my very eyes last time in Athens, make em' feel the pain of defeat! Kentucky is gonna have to pay for last year too! Tech is foaming at the mouth to beat us, (my whole company is freaking Tech graduates except me!) make it 7 straight & shut em' up for another year! Bring on LSU in the SEC Championship Game, I remember the 2005 edition; after whipping the Bengals 34 - 14, DAWG players were chanting \"3rd in the East, 3rd in the East!\" (Same place we were picked to finish this year--HMMM)
WHO IS WITH ME DAWG FANS? WHO STILL BELIEVES? THE TIME TO DESTROY THE COMMODORES IS NEAR!!!
I'd rather by a BULLDOG & lose em' all than root for any other team and never taste defeat!
