CMR Burns The Shirt

Well, it happened. CMR burned Stafford's redshirt. The upside of it is that he looks DAMN GOOD! Does anyone else think that maybe this year we could run the offense like Tailback U and QB U? I think he could run the offense like a pitching staff, with a starter (JT3 or MS), middle relief(JC), and a closer (JT3 or MS). No fatigue, plus the opposing teams would have to prepare for three different quarterbacks while our offense would have to make only minor adjustments. It's not a platoon; it's a bullpen! At the very least he should do what he did with Greenie and DJ in '02 and '04 with JT3 and MS.

Mikey, Mikey, Mikey. Oh well. He redeemed himself the next time he touched the ball. And he still makes me less nervous than Thomas Flowers; with him it's either a 50 yard return or a fumble as soon as he touches the ball.

At any rate, GO DAWGS!!! If SC could only score 15 against MSU, we might have a decent shot not only at winning, but at blowing the Cocks out of the water!

Let me be clear: I AM NOT WORRIED ABOUT OUR OFFENSE! I AM NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE SO-CALLED "QB SITUATION!"

over the course of decades to trust those who are in the paid position to render decisions. So, on the matter of our QB rotation, I'll defer to CMR and staff.

I am, however, somewhat perplexed at the choice to play Cox AND Stafford, especially against a Div II team! The mere fact that CMR burned the MS shirt for WKU leads me to believe that its been the intention for some time. Likewise, I've heard that MS has made great strides at learning the playbook and now seems to be knocking squarely on the #2 spot! For me, the jury is still out on MS. True he performed well and showed poise, but it was against a Div II team, late in the game, after the beat down was well underway! I will admit that his arm strength and delivery are things of beauty and what we witnessed on Saturday are glimpses of our future...perhaps sooner rather than later!

Cox performed very well in the back-up role, but got greedy, perhaps wishing for a big splash and ended up airing out an ugly interception. Its choices like these that will tip the playing time in favor of MS. If Cox wants to retain his #2 spot, he must make better decisions!

JTIII....as I expected. Methodical, vanilla, heady play. Nothing special except for the scoring. IMHO, this is what we will see, especially this weekend, and throughout the season. The wild card here is MS and the burning of his shirt. With the shirt out of play, I suspect MS will be the driving force for both Cox and JTIII. Failure on their part opens the door that much wider for MS moving up the ladder.

As I said earlier, the jury is still out. But this is sure going to be fun to watch!......

GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our offense is not easy to learn and pick up versus HS. Especially with CMR as the task master to please. Decision making within the offensive scheme is what CMR is looking for. AKA knowledge of the game. JT3 has that knowledge. Don't think he or Cox or Barnes has the arm to compete with MS. MS will be the QB of the future, how soon that future gets here is up to his ability to assimilate the UGA offensive schemes and consistantly make the right decisions. Once that happens DAWGS, its going to be really special to watch. Just my opinion.

As much as I wanted to see Stafford play, I think a few questions were answered against Colorado. Did Cox step up or what!?!?!?!

Here is the next question to ponder......

If Cox continues playing the way he did Saturday, will Joe T come back as the starter or will he remain back-up for a couple weeks after he heals??
