Back In The Hunt

Dawgs are back in it, and at the moment, the SEC E. Title is up for
grabs in a swirling current of relatively equal competitors! It is
very exciting to be a fan of any of these teams at the moment. With no
TV coverage of GA-Miss, I had to watch and savor the delightful demise
of the Ghoulish Lizzards of Gainesville. Oh, it was delicious to see
Auburn (or anyone) skin the smelly yet talented reptiles in their own
spawning grounds. How'd they do it? They did it the way Junkyard Dawg
suggested that it always be done. Playing gut-check; no \"bend-but-don't-
break\" business by Auburn last night. No prevent D; waiting for someone
to catch the ball or pass the line of scrimmage before convening a
board of inquiry as to whether or not this ball carrier should be
tackled here. Smash-mouth D! A dash of kryptonite D for Superman Tebow.
They did it to the toothy lizzards, and I think that is what we need
more of. Ole Miss did just about what USC did to us on offense. The
only difference appeared to be that the Rebs didn't have enough
defensive manpower to make it stick for four quarters.

Current ranking: About 12th (Just about right-on accurate) Thank
goodness S.C. is ranked ahead of us. Imagine if we had beaten S.C.,
had identical records otherwise, and S.C. was ranked ahead of us.
So, eventhough we may actually be better then S.C. (and I am not sure
that we are), it is right and proper that they are ranked ahead of us.
- At the risk of ridicule for reiteration: Request more defensive
stunts, sets, blitzes and attack mentality. Take the ball; don't wait
for it to be surrendered.
- Congratulations on a perfectly executed on sides kick!
- Good work by the young OL!
- Only one game remaining this year: UT ONLY ONE!

You know, I'm not really down on Martinez as a whole, think he's done a pretty good job overall but will have to admit that I have concerns with his schemes etc.(not getting stops when we need to close games). I said it last year and I'll say it again, especially after Sat. night in Gainesville, we should have gone after Will Muschamp as our DC. He is a Dawg and a tough, smart, aggressive DC. Believe he would have come back to UGA in a second. Just like his style of coaching defense.....aggressive, just ask uf.

I agree about Martinez. It was great seeing the blitzes in the Bama game. We gotta go after Ainge or he'll kill us. I would prefer a little more attack defense. We have to run the ball down the Vol's throat. We got the horses to do it.

the same DawgSpeare from the Run? Nonetheless, welcome aboard! I completely agree with your D assessment and absolutely loathe the application of \"bend don't break\"! UT can execute the underneath dink's, as did USC. CWM had better plan for more aggression or it could make for a long afternoon next to a muddy river....

No; not the same. Just an old dawg fan who can't resist putting in a few 'sense' worth for the team. And as Junkyard rightly observes, we are not out for the wholesale eradication-elimination of CWM and what he has done. 4-1 is obviously respectable these days. It's just that 9 min. drives are a little too much. At least some of the time, let us focus more on defensing the player than the space. Standing around is the proper purview of cheerleaders, not linebackers, corners and safeties.
