This Day in Bulldog History

On Sept 6, 1980 the great Herschel Walker became known when the Dawgs went into Knoxville and beat the vols 16-15 in front of what was at the time the largest crowd to witness a game in the south.....However Herschel was not the only hero....the junkyard Dawgs saved the game more than once including when the vols had the ball down on their own 1 yard line and the back fumbled the ball, recovered by who else than my father, Pat McShea #41.... He likes to call it the most important fumble recovery in UGA history, since it stopped them from scoring, allowed Herschel to get his famous run, and kept them from losing which led them to be undefeated and goto the National Championship.... also it was the last time the dawgs ever wore the red pants....they've claimed them as \"unlucky\" since then.

Sweet story. Every chance you get, tell your dad thanks.
