Its always a great Sunday when the Dawgs roll over Assburn.
Coach Harsin paid one of the highest compliments imaginable after the game to Georgia: "We want to be a Georgia. We want to build what they have. They're the team we want to be."
Despite the bitter rivalry, there was a lot of respect shown.
So let's talk about the game...
Great game all around, the defense looked outstanding once again and Stetson was exactly the QB that Auburn wished Bo Nix was. Mobile, agile, and an intelligent passer. Nix is mobile, but that's about it. I'm very glad we won't have to see him again. I'm tired of the name Bo Nix and I'm tired of hearing how great he is.
However.... we need to be honest about something we probably don't want to admit, but........
Auburn exposed some weaknesses in our defense and it lies in our secondary. This was a key point I made in the game week thread. Bobo knew it and they were firing off passes and showing that he knew it. If there hadn't been the dropped passes by Auburn's receivers that they should have caught, this game would have been a LOT closer than any of us would have liked. Plenty of passes Nix threw hit their receivers right in the hands or the chest and they failed to catch them. We were the beneficiaries of Auburn's poor receivers. But when/if we play a team that has good receivers, they're going to give our secondary a run for its money. The run defense was stellar. But the pass defense was aided by their bad receivers.
Gotta go to work.
Let me just say it now: Darnell Washington, Jordan Davis, and Jalan Carter are just beasts.
On to Kin-tucky.
GO DAWGS!
