From Athens- Friday Thoughts 29-01-21

Good Day All,

Been a busy week.... CJP is on the move to the Big Apple... joining the NY Giant’s defensive staff... still appreciate what he did in Athens.... many didn’t like his abrasive personality.... but he was able to wake up Mahogany Row and get the IPF... built and operational.... thanks..

Not everyone is capable of being a HC..not even if CNS was your mentor...

Being versed in Yankee speak ... I can testify CJP won’t easily offend anyone in his new surroundings.... Good Luck in you next life’s chapter....

Staying on Tennessee... they hired Josh Heupel away from UCF as their new HC... while it’s a huge pay increase...it comes with a multitude unanswered questions.... he will have an extended honeymoon environment... while waiting on the final NCAA penalties.... once they are known... the clock will start ticking for results.... still expectations will remain low... one can safely say righting the recruiting program is a high priority..... going to be interesting to see who signs on to join his staff...
No it’s not the Titanic.... but as history as shown in Knox Vegas... it’s not the Love Boat... either......

The news from Athens... we hired a new DB Coach... Jahmile Addae who held the same position at West Virginia... were he also played .. staring as. DB... extremely successful... WVA’s Secondary was highly ranked in 2020... I believe Kirby has found another nugget.... anyone remember the nervous feelings they had when CKS hired a unknown DL coach...

Seems Coach Scott has grown very well into creditable DL Coach...

Kirby does surround himself with very capable assistants.... yes there have been hiccups.. but they seem to ride into the sunset....fairly quickly..


Growl/ Buc ... you are going to love how our newest 2022 QB commit..

Got his name... Gunner Stockton... from Rayburn County....
His grandfather is a WWII veteran.... as a member of the Air Force..
His duty on the bombers flight crew.... he manned the nose gun... hence his nickname..”Gunner”..... more importantly... it gives us back to back 5 Star QB recruits from the state of Georgia..

Sidebar..... Georgia has seven commitments for the 2022 class...all ..
from the state of Georgia.... hmmm....

SEC... released our 2021 schedule.... back to eight conference games..
It shows us opening in Charlotte against Clemson.... guarded
optimism .....
