From Athens- Friday Thoughts 22-01-21

Good Day All,

I admit that when I first heard the news coming out of Knoxville about cash being paid to recruits in McDonald’s bags ....

I said....How stupid..... did they actually believe that nobody would leak this...crazy scheme... I gloated for awhile...then I remembered that other universities have fallen into the same pitfall of paying recruits and buying commitments from players to attend their schools..... cash or cars .... trips... jobs for family members.... any combination of all the above...

Had the Vols gone 7-3 instead of 3-7 would the spotlight on the investigations been as bright... you would hope so....

Tennessee’s President has stated that AD Fullmer’s retirement is unrelated to the investigations into football recruiting..... hmmm,

Can’t believe that someone didn’t whisper in Phil’s ear that something fishy was taking place with football player recruitment .......

Many times over the course of ten years posting here ..

I have said... I wouldn’t trade our problems at UGA for anyone else’s ..

Still true today....

Pause and give thanks...
