From Athens - Game Day Friday # 9

Good Morning All,

Before I start with this weeks BPS…. I want to acknowledge this coming Monday.... Veterans Day….

Being a seasoned senior citizen aka “ Old Fart” there was a time when this was a day of remembrance for those who served in our military.

Large parades and special memorial services were held in almost every city big or small…

Then there was the Poppies …. Red paper flowers on a green wire stem…..sold by the VFW on every street corner to help raise money for Veterans in need….

It as become difficult to find these poppies being sold……. Another fading memory …… “ Freedom is not Free”

A big thank you to those who served and to those still on active duty…..

There is not much to banter about this weeks game with Mizzzou…..

We play to our standard we win and cover the 17 point spread….. what I enjoyed besides beating UF was seeing the areas we showed improvement …

Both players and coaches ……. Like it a lot….

Quietly we have put together a pretty stout defense …. While building depth both on the offense and defense…. Special Teams… remains a strength ..

It’s going to be fun to see another night game in Sanford…..

Growl anything special coming off your grill this week …..???

Allow me this . . . . I continue to shadow the gators every chance I get. Below is an article that I felt some here would be interested in reading. Bulldogs certainly have the attention of many that write and are informed concerning gator football.

When mullen/grantham arrived in Gainesville they really put themselves "out there" while recruiting the State of Florida. Seems they are still having problems with in state talent. mullen aped Muschamp's attack plan upon arrival. Seems to me that Smart and Company are doing/did well against both coaches. I look at what mullen has done that gives many the idea that he is a quarterback guru, do not get the same impression of the gator coach. Hate to say it, urban liar myer is the the reason that Tebow became a gator. Believe Tebow still credits meyer for his success in college. mullen had a quarterback at Mississippi State that now works for the Dallas Cowboys, while a good quarterback, not the best in my opinion.

I think I'm going to do another pot of White Chicken Chili, man that stuff is so good, and just right for watching the Game when the weather is beginning to cool off some.
