From Athens - Game Day Friday -2

Good Morning All,

Here’s wishing a fast and full recovery for Kearis and Isaiah.

Next man up ….. chance for younger pups to gain valuable game experience…

Several times over the years of posting on Dawgs.com I spoke about not wanting to trade our problems for anyone else’s …..

This past weekend was again a clear example to me about the truth of this statement …… college football is loaded with programs on life support…….

It would also be an excellent time to again acknowledge just how close we came to missing out on CKS to South Carolina….. scary close call…

That would have set up a mess…. revolving doors in searching for our new HC…. And yes there was a number of people that thought Musschimp would have been a good fit to our program……

That being said ….. HC is even more comfortable in year four….
We have talked about watching CKS gain seasoning with each passing season…. Love the fact he hasn’t found it necessary to learn and use coach speak….. still speaks clearly and to the point…… no fluff or filler..

HC and staff will use the next two games to groom and gain game experience for our younger pups…

Don’t expect to see us show much new on “O”…or “D”….. I see our focus on execution…. Cleaning up silly penalties …… general housekeeping….

I can't believe no one has mentioned what happened to UT this past week. The shine has already worn off CJP for most Vols fans.

Wart.... UT.....FSU....USC...Mizzuo.... and others..

Teams wandering in the deep woods....

Imho..... our fans realize had things played out differently we would

still be among those losing to lesser teams we should beat...

HC replied when asked about upsets last weekend...

We focus on improving our team....

I can only hope that we dont play the next couple of Games the way we did the first one. By that I mean too lackadaisical, they could easily start to become used to taking half measures and not carry out the plays. Lets not do that! We had an HC that let it happen over and over again, I cant see CKS letting that happen.

I thought opening with an SEC opponent might lead to a more fiery start to the season.

Regarding the SEC... The elite are still elite and among the best in the country every year, but the plan by the powers that be in NCAA to bring the conference as a whole back down to the pack seems to have worked.

We will have to see if that holds, or its just a temporary blip.

I have been reading up on a Tennessee forum about the great JP. Dang man, that’s pretty funny. The end of the BYU game, ouchie that one had to hurt. Old mr karma always catches up...

I miss mr Buc’s posts here. Hope all is well sir.
