From Athens- Friday Thoughts-28-06-19

Good Morning All,

Assorted stuff……

Never like to see a player dismissed from a team… however, this was an easy call ….. never strike a woman…. Truly hope this young man learns and grows from this experience ……… appreciate your past contributions……


Old farts like myself remember NcDawg who I can remember clearly…

Stating the following numerous times,,,,, get the recruits committed,then get them on campus and in the classroom… only then can you truly start talking about what they can add to our program….

We have had succeed flipping players to come to Georgia ….and we have had players flip out of our program to go elsewhere ….

Big part of recruiting……. It is what it is…...

Make my RC Cola and Moon Pie bet….. CSP….. will reel in another two
OL’s……. Work continues …on the Great Wall of Georgia …..

Happy to say only one month separates us from August and fall camp

Ready…… itch grows with each passing day…

Next up SEC Media Days….in July….. Heads will tune up the hype….

I am taking next Friday off… be back the following week

July 4th …… a another holiday to celebrate our freedom

Which was never free……… Shout out to Greg and his posse…

And to all veterans ….. a big thank you….. for your service…

This is a topic that has been discussed on this board with both pro and con comments dating back several years. Speak for myself "again", would love to see the game played "home and home". Took a real football coach like Pruitt to arrive in Athens and openly speak to the "football needs" of our program, needs being building proper facilities to "lure" top rated candidates to Athens. How has that worked out so far? From where I sit, it has changed our program from the pitfall that was (and is) in my opinion "heads of state" not knowing their butts from a hole in their head(s).

Now we have Coach Smart coming out and letting his feelings be known. Will the "heads of state" see this as another football coach nosing into their business . . . . and let well enough alone? Probably enough said, will add this (again) . . . . Greg McGarity is the one person that remains in Athens that needs to be replaced. Yes, just like the last head football coach.

Article below mentions the amount of money that is spent in JAX. That money every other year could and should be spent with the local and surrounding folks that open their doors to all FANS, especially UGA FANS.

AND . . . . Public Relations folks could easily set up an inside Sanford Stadium large screen gathering for Georgia FANS when the game is played in Gainesville, Florida. Wonder just how much money would be spent on attendance in Sanford Stadium and support of the local vendors. Truthfully, this is not ROCKET SCIENCE. Yes, I live on the SPACE COAST of Florida and know a little something about rockets and "stuff".

Footnote: How has the Georgia/Auburn Game worked out financially and recruiting wise since playing home and home? Was a big deal for Columbus, Georgia at one point, but "smarter" heads prevailed. Anyone for moving the game back to Columbus? Silly question.

Agree for the most part however the right to self defense is not gender specific.

I wonder if Kirby would change his tune if they changed the rule and let the home team recruit like it was a normal weekend.
