Been pondering all week since I heard this piece of information.
We as a nation have set a record for the length and repeat number of military overseas deployments to an active war zones… by our service personnel …….
Stated another way… we are sending our forces into harms way for longer periods of time and then ask them to commit to another tour at a faster rate than ever before in our nations history...
I understand times have changed and this has become the new norm…
Yes everyone knows going in what will be asked of them…. And do so without any complaints…..
My point is except for the people and families who are effected by these pressures….. and challenges….. a large number of the general public haven’t a clue… I was one of them…..
This Memorial Day weekend given the opportunity …. Thank vet for their service. It means so much to them…. Appreciation …..for their sacrifice and that of their families…..
