Hiring Next Defensive Coordinator

A lot of conversation about the hiring of the next defensive coordinator. Willing to toss my helmet into the ring . . . . Glenn Schumann. Inside linebacker coach, experience while at Alabama under Saban and now in Athens under Smart. Can't see bringing a coach in that does not have the "time spent" with Kirby Smart. Schumann has worked hard on the recruiting trail, gets along well with Kirby . . . . understands who is boss. That will play a key role in the next hiring of defensive coordinator. Mel Tucker was open game last season for those searching for a head coach, Tennessee comes to mind and certainly Maryland this season. Wish Mel Tucker well, now he can line up against Mike Bobo at CSU.

Continuity is important and hopefully a pick like this would signal that. There are players already being recruited and someone in house would probably already have some relationship with recruits.

That is what is most important to me because things like the scheme itself are a secondary thought. Secondary because I'm pretty sure this is Kirby's D... that isn't going to change.
