GAME DAY: GEORGIA BULLDOGS VS SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS

So I ended up having to watch the game on a Delta flight yesterday across country. Let's hear it for Delta having SEC games live on Saturday in flight! Not a bad experience when you're sipping Jack and Cokes watching UGA play at 35,000' in the air. First world problems. :o)

I didn't buy the hype that a chicken upset was in the making, but I get the fact that it was the sexy and trendy upset pick.

What I saw yesterday was Sam Pittman era in full effect.

Sadler - 100% spon on. 1600lbs of chuck wagon is going to take its toll, and that's exactly what happened. I also think, and I've said this before, that the strength & conditioning aspect of this program continues to be the unsung hero and I was glad to hear CKS mention this in his presser.

There are some problems in pass coverage and the secondary was caught off guard on some of the play actions and RPOs in the first half. Kirby likes to downplay second half adjustments in a passive-aggressive manner when asked about them, but it was clear that adjustments were made. I was glad to see Holyfield really have a good outing, and I think this win really was a total team effort. I'll take seeing five tailbacks have 75 yards and us win over one tailback having 200 yards and us lose. These kids really do buy into the shared approach of the process.

The run D is dialed in, but if I'm being picky, the pass rush needs work.

UGA needed a statement in this game and it gave one. Given our strength of schedule, this game needed to be exactly what it was. Ditto LS-who and Auburn.

Sorry. Not sorry.

I was listening to a caller on ESPN radio lament the fact that we haven't seen a standout at WR. Just as it was noted that having 5 guys run for 60 a piece is fine if we win, so, I believe, is it okay that 6 receivers with okay numbers (okay, 1 was stellar) is also good for Georgia.
I think this prevents opposing Ds focusing on one player. Also, if your guy is having trouble, the next guy might have success. This might be part of the new culture under Kirby. Total team effort rather than relying on one guy to carry the team. Its refreshing.
On a related note, Jake Fromm is boring. I mean, no theatrics, no showboating. Nothing. Just consistent, robot-like performance. Go to work. Do your job. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. It's boring. I like boring.
