From Athens- Game Day Friday #2 07-09-18

Good Morning All,

Game Day Friday # 2…. Already…. Short week….. yes first SEC game..

And yes every SEC game is important….

As we get further into the season I will more than likely touch on this subject again….

It seems a very short time ago we lived in the college football weeds..

Not really bad but not really good….. except when losing to lesser teams and bottoming with losses to Tech…. then yes it was extremely bad…….

Which was met with Ah shucks …. We will be better next year…. After we …… fill in the blanks________________.........

Yes excuses and coach speak filled post game press conferences ….

Now in year three of the Smart Era…. Having changed so much so quickly we as fans at times really don’t know how we got to where we are only that we don’t want to return to the not too distant past… being on the outside looking in….. or enjoying playing in the Belk Bowl….

Not going into the X’s and O’s for this week’s game against the chickens….

For me it’s come down to …. Kirby and Muschimp…..

As HC’s what have they done…… not just Wins but recruiting and assistant coaches….. And how much sizzle surrounds the program….

Remember few years back playing the Gators…. Me thinks it was the Black helmet game…. Florida players calling us out for “Fake Juice”

Maybe some of that has found it’s way to Columbia…… hmmmm,

We play to our standard…. Focus … Ignore the noise…do your job…. Win and get on the plane and come home…..

Thinking we cover the 9.5 points ….. might be the game that offense rolls….. road graders….. at work…..

Growl ….. me thinks your grill will be cranked for game….

Pause and give thanks…..

This is one game that I just despise about every other year. Not despise because we don't win or because the games are unwatchable.... but despise because of that gods-forsaken crowing noise those idiots up there play through the PA every 38 seconds.

Makes me want to put an ice pick in my temple.
