From Athens- Game Day Friday #1 30-08-18

Good Morning All,

I am always happy to do the first Game Day Friday for a new season.

This off season has been so different than anything we fans have experienced imho.

Not just the winning but how we have arrived at where we are at the beginning of a new season…..

As many here including myself have pointed out you need the horses to compete for the National Title….. as Bama has proven it starts with recruiting driven to build quality depth….

CKS..stepped up in fast fashion recruiting players who fit his process to build a winning program…. He surrounded himself with a staff of assistant coaches who supported and added to his process…

All the has been done without any smoke and mirrors …. Don’t have a barker standing outside a tent calling everyone to step inside…

Instead we have a HC with a clear plan that he has explained to our fan base … here is what we are doing and how we are going about doing it….

Year three HC is far more relaxed with press and is even more comfortable in his skin…. A very good thing….

Oh…. About the game….. one of my local friends made the comment that we could play Austin Peay wearing flip flops….

I said…. Don’t think HC would agree…. I have no fear that we have a let down…. Think we are done playing down to the level of a lesser opponent……

We show just enough of the playbook to get Muschimps attention.

Score….. anything we want it to be….

Get some game experience for the freshman we will need as the season goes on…

Focus…. Take care of business…. Work the kinks and bugs out

Senior LB Juwan Taylor, Junior RB Elijah Holyfield, and senior WR Ahkil Crumpton have been named captains for this weeks game.

I want to see Holyfield get some solid PT behind Swift.

Yep... let's stay healthy and get some playing time for the young guys... ready to tee it up
