Reese, a four-star recruit and the No. 87 player nationally according to the 247Sports Composite, was listed as an outside linebacker coming out of high school. He has shown the capability to play several positions and is now primarily working at safety and the “star” position. With elite size for a defensive back at 6-foot-3, 205 lbs., Reese could prove to be a dynamic weapon on the Georgia defense down the line.
"Otis is doing a good job of understanding the cause,” Smart said. “We've got a role for him as a ‘star’. We've got a role for him as a safety. He has a dual role. I think he is more comfortable form his high school background playing ‘star’...He has to cross train. So far, he has done a good job of doing that."

ogredawg's post about Otis Reese earlier seems to bear out his prediction.
“How they came in does not matter to us, you mention they came in highly regarded, that ain’t nothing in that room, it means absolutely nothing,” Smart said. “Every time you guys print something about receivers, it’s about how many 5 stars are in there.”
