From Athens- Friday Thoughts- 27-07-18

Good Day All,

Another Boom.. on the recruiting front….. Welcome Travon Walker to

Athens…looking forward to seeing you play between the hedges..

As I posted earlier this week….. not long ago the heads were asking

What’s wrong with Georgia and our efforts to recruit for the class of 2019… also calling into play if we had lost the ability recruit DL…..

Rumbling about Coach Scott not pulling his weight recruiting…

Well the events of the past week dispelled much of that chatter…

Still the moaners …gripe and groan about losing a recruit to another school…. Yes… repeating myself….. we like every other college will not Sign every recruit…we seek….. even CNS and the Tide…… more important to me is…..they really want to wear
the “G”…..

IMHO…. CKS and staff have done an excellent job keeping in state players …home..playing for Georgia…. A very good thing…

It will be a big weekend for recruiting in Athens……

New improvements to Sanford will be revealed to a large group of recruits and committed players….. all part of HC’s process..

Just like his first two….year three recruiting will be off the chain… quality depth for positions will be filled….. more good surprises than disappointments…… process will continue…. Foundations built upon…

Georgia….just being Georgia… will continue to ring positive…

Sidebar….. IPF has gotten a lot of use as we have had record rain fall for Athens this summer…. 19 straight days with showers….. the team was able to get their work in…. many took advantage of being able to get extra work in…… thanks again CJP…..

No we are not Bama yet….. but we are a damn sight closer in CKS third year than we were the prior 15 years….. fact…

Camp opens next Thursday……Itchy….

Enjoyed the read sir . . . . Totally agree that much has been accomplished in 3 years, compared to 15 prior years. yd1, Special Team play will be just that in 2018 . . . . Special. No longer do the prized players watch kickoffs, they realize that special team participation puts them a step closer to extra playing time on both offense and defense. Guess that is called coaching them up.

Clay Webb . . . . If . . . . If our coaching staff can pull a talented young man like Webb out of Alabama, sends a serious message about the resolve of Smart and Company.

“I love Coach Pittman,” Webb told Dawgs247 earlier this month. “I like him a lot. His demeanor and his overall attitude about everything and his non-stop drive is just different. I like that so much about him.”

“If I go to Georgia, it would be because of Coach Pittman.”

More on the coaching staff . . . .

On point Buc..... not anywhere’s near done recruiting 2019 and beyond..

If anyone else would like to name positions. That need to be addressed that can have the most impact on us. Being successful..

For the upcoming season ....have at it.....
