From Athens- Friday Thoughts

Good Day All,

Summer has arrived in Athens….toasty 90 plus today… did have a breeze so yard work continues…..

It’s not the middle of May yet and I have had it with the talking heads..

Every SEC game on our schedule is…. Wait for it….. A trap game….

We are no longer a secret…. After coming back to beat Assburn for the SEC….. we were acknowledged as a team to avoid playing…

Now it’s a new season and seems that we haven’t the talent to compete ……. Horse hockey……

While the heads believe we will win the east…. Barely ….. or… we might slip and let the dark horse chickens or is it the gators no wait Mizzou will sneak past us… yada yada..

Me thinks the heads still think we have CMR running our program…

And…. We will revert to Georgia just being Georgia…..

As always let each game play itself out and see how the season progress…

It became clear why we went a signed a graduate transfer punter..

Marshall Long has had knee surgery for the second year in a row..

He has had major injury issues…. Coaching staff went out and made efforts to insure we didn’t move backwards in our kicking
game…

CKS….process always has a plan “B”……. love it…

Braves….. will it last…. Fun to watch…… while it lasts..

Film does not lie. Deangelo Gibbs was one of the most impressive players in high school that I have "ever" watched. His return can and will make a huge difference with our football team. Bad to the bone. Great hands, makes our defense that much better.

Quay Walker, 6'4" 230, can only imagine a full year under Scott Sinclair and Ed Ellis. Quay stays healthy, he leaves as soon as eligible for the NFL. Another linebacker with good hands and incredible speed, not to mention likes contact.

Otis Reese, small wonder UGA had the #1 recruiting class. Otis Reese looks and plays the part of "bad to the bone".

Read where many of the talking heads rate Georgia below the top two or three in the country for 2018. Teams that are more talented than our group, pretty damn scary.

Sorry, do not see a weakness in Athens. Can safely say that with the coaching changes made a couple of years back. This group of coaches are up to the task of developing these young pups, and they will.

Believe that Brenton Cox is going to be a all everything defensive end.

Reese will see the field quite a lot sooner rather than later. He fits the Smart/Tucker style of safety and he will HURT you. Once he gets the speed of the SEC down look out for this young man. Expect great things from him

Court rules in favor of legal betting. Next step is college athletes being paid legally, not through a "handshake" as has happened for many years. At some point with coaches and athletic directors making big bucks now, trickle down will happen.
