Good feeling with the many changes that have actually occurred rather quickly in our football program. Last three years have given me as much or more excitement than the previous . . x. . . years.

I have always been the sort that likes a “plan”. I still believe that the first major change in Athens (in eons) occurred when Jeremy Pruitt was hired. Nice thing about that change was the many changes that occurred after Pruitt’s arrival in Athens. Finally it appears that football is alive and well in the Classic City. Still think that the 2019 Class being recruited is needed as much as the 2017/2018 Classes were. No longer do we have someone sleeping at the wheel.

As far as our basketball program, I am in the same “funk” that I once was in with the football program. I might be different than some, would bet on that, strong belief that we need a “different” Athletic Director and some changes in the Mahogany Row makeup. Have this sick feeling that Smart and Company have made it too easy for those at the top to continue to take up their positions behind their desks.

Football will always be the money maker, but there is no excuse for the other sports to be handled any less than our football program was handled recently. Keep raising those ticket prices, at some point the “noise” will get much louder than this latest price jack. Yes, “price jack”. Football has bought McGarity and others some time, how long . . . . FANS will determine that.

Notice the color of Scrooge's robe . . . .

In the article below Seth Emerson goes into great detail concerning Georgia and its money management by none other than Greg McGarity. This subject has been approached more than once. Quite often over the past the explanations as to why FANS are shouldering and should shoulder increases with little or zero "accepted" solutions presented to said FANS by one Greg McGarity.

This thread started on Dawgs.com today should be noted as a follow-up to the article below. This thread was presented more than 2 hours prior to the article below. Timelines have always meant a lot to me and can be referenced by looking back over a long period.

Again, I really appreciate Seth Emerson going into more detail than myself and others.

Notice that Scrooge is wearing "Red and Black", shoe seems to fit.

Dominique Wilkins....

Went to uga and never played in the ncaa torney. He could have gone to unc and played with Jordan, worthy, and sam Perkins. Would have prolly won two nattys. That’s what uga is up against in basketball. They just aren’t good enough to get good players. The same reason a school like uva sucks in football.

On another note...congrats on a big year!

To be honest I was very surprised how successful after year one. Just some sloppy losses and wins the first year. After this years recruiting, going to be hard not to be very good. We will see.

Have this feeling that we are going to see a huge change in SEC football. So many good athletes across the South and the country that really want to play in our conference.

More than ever before coaching is going to be a factor when playoff time arrives. Was a time when some coaches could skate, believe those days are over. Many factors will require high or higher performances from the coaching staffs . . . . money being a main reason now.

When the NFL draft arrives each year, one coach always seems to be there, year after year, yep Nick Saban. Good reason, Saban has done a remarkable job since his arrival in Tuscaloosa. Nick’s players being drafted each year seem to get the attention of young men that want the same exposure after their time playing on the college level.

Little doubt that Jeremy Pruitt will change the face of football in Knoxville. Also believe that the transition will happen quickly, maybe as quick as the transition that took place in Athens with the “change”.

Believe that the same can be said about football in Columbia. I feel that Muschamp has found the right college for his style of coaching. Will is a brass knuckles type of coach that is in my opinion one of the best defensive coaches in the country. Our schedule has the Gamecocks back in the #2 slot in 2018, actually liked playing them later on.

Next two to three years in the SEC are going to be nothing less than a dog fight(s). Years 2019/2020 are sure to help the television football ratings, little doubt that there will be more than one or two teams capable of playing in ATL and the games following ATL. Soon expect to see more consideration given to expanding the playoff system from four to eight. Also, would not rule out the stronger conferences taking a closer look at the NCAA and its lack of leadership.

Trying to share and figure out some of my thoughts on the “overall” picture of the SEC and college football overall.
