Guess there was/is a method behind Kirby’s (supposed madness).
Putting the pressure on Rodrigo Blankenship (#98) to improve on kickoffs. Kirby knew that he had/has talent on the defensive side of the ball, as a result Mississippi State found it hard to put together drives that started deep in their territory. Fundamental SEC football.
SEC has not changed in eons . . . . must have a punting/kicking game. I give great credit to #98 for working really hard in the off season trying to reach the goals set by his head coach.
Everyone played serious football against MS, however, my game ball award goes to #98.
Jake Carmada #1 in the country Punter/Kicker, enrolling in 2018 Class.
Coach Saban really wanted Carmada, films below shows why.

Bringing in Kevin Butler was the best move Kirby has made so far

Kirby has focused on the "short comings" that he was presented with when taking over.
Kevin Butler has the credentials, Kirby knows that. Agree it was a good move, do not think it will be the last.
One other thing . . . . Media both local and national gearing up to make their "click" totals move up by stirring the pot concerning Fromm and Eason. Bet this . . . . Kirby will not be swayed by the "click" gatherers.
Lots of hard SEC football to be played in 2017. Georgia is good, how good . . . . that will be answered soon.
Continue to coach this group of athletes up. Appears more DEPTH is pointed in our direction in 2018.
I agree with a comment made yesterday about Fromm looking a lot like AM. Not always the strongest arm that wins games. Film study is "coaching them up" without wearing the pads. Some willing, others are not. Kirby is trying real hard to get one of our tight ends to "commit" to his way of coaching. Coaches usually win.
