Moving along to Muschamp and other folks that recruit Georgia throughout the year. Never stops.
For a long time it has been known among some that UGA needed to get "their/our" game plan in order. Have heard a lot of "lip service" over many years about trying to keep Georgia talent inside our borders. At some point we will have to win games that reflect a "change".
Is Kirby Smart able to do what those before him have not been able to accomplish . . . . don't know. Will know in the not too distant future.
Many times folks in the real world want the same job, comes down to who and why a certain person(s) fill those slots.
Now is not a time to relax, we have been through this/that before. It is not about the media "clicks", they do not participate on the playing field. Their playing field is off bounds to most of us. Why? Many times the answer is the same answer that has played out in the business world . . . . comes down to who you know.
Saban, meyer and others can pull top athletes out of the State of Georgia . . . . Why? Because they win games that matter. Matter meaning almost all of the teams on their schedules.
Notre Dame is a HUGE GAME Kirby. Having checked their recruiting efforts for the last few years, do not think we have a "TALENT EXCUSE".
Read where some say, do not look past our opener. If I cannot do that, I have a serious problem with our coaching staff . . . . and those that sit "upstairs".
UGA has a "Boat Load" of talented players now. This group of athletes should be able to play with 99% of the top teams in D1 Football. Notre Dame is not one I refer to in the top 99%. They have athletes, they also have a head coach that will probably lose his job if UGA leaves with a "W".
Good Day

EDIT . . . . One of my concerns goes something like this . . . .
Muschamp is a defensive football coach. Has proven that at more than one University. Smart is a defensive football coach, has proven that at Alabama over a long period of time.
Both of these "friends" have had problems on the offensive side of the ball. Muschamp replaced by an offensive head coach, team does well. New offensive coach actually did well with the players that Muschamp recruited and taught the college game. gators won games with a very good defense, not offense.
Have concerns that we might be seeing the same "game plan" in the previous paragraph. Really hard for me to move away from Chubb and Michel taking their thoughts to our offensive coordinator. Along with that, brought a coach in from Wisconsin, often mentioned as a quarterback coach. Don't know, do know, will watch UGA Football closely in 2017.
I think about UGA Football a lot, one would never know . . . .
Go Dawgs, Coach Them Up!! Never a stronger statement made. As one of the more open minded board members has said . . . . often . . . . NO EXCUSES.
ogredawg, I do have some of the same thoughts that you mentioned early on.
