The Greatest Generation came out of a terrible era, the 1930's. They became the soldiers in WW2. Many gave all without question. They returned and were taken care of and honored.
They went on to build the greatest country during the 1950's under leadership of Dwight Eisenhower, a president that experienced war and wanted to never return. He wanted a society where we all worked together toward a common goal. Peace, harmony, helping one another.
They elected John Kennedy who gave America purpose beyond that era. The space race, the Peace Corps and more. A story JFK told was on a tour of the space center he asked a janitor with a broom what he was doing. He said "Putting a man on the moon Mr. President".
Thank you to the "Greatest Generation".
Your son,
Steve
