Toneil Carter pulling back from Georgia. No bad thoughts on my part, understandable with Chubb and Michel returning for their Senior year.

Not much changes from year to year with early commitments.

Stay on top of offensive and defensive line recruits, build on what appears to be a different way of recruiting than it was in previous years.

See where some reports say or imply that Georgia is missing out somehow. Behind Chubb and Michel there is what appears to be a "stud" . . . . Brian Herrien. Add to that D'Andre Swift and Elijah Holyfield.

Young men want to play, those that want to win "championships" sign on with programs like the one in "Alabama", knowing that they will play when their time comes. Hoping that Georgia can reach that point with our program. Nothing happens overnight. Saban has the trophies in Tuscaloosa to prove his way is the right way.

Hard for young men to find playing time in Athens it appears.

Looking at the Army All American Bowl 2017 East Roster.

Florida has 7 players on the Eastside.

Georgia has 10 players on the Eastside.

If this is any indication of things to come, count me in.

Have some folks that I have known over the years that I stay in contact with . . . . they are no different than Dawgs.com members . . . . hard not to recognize "something has changed in Athens".

Guess the remaining piece to the puzzle is coaching. Lots of experience on the coaching staff. Lots of football players ready to be coached.

Not going to "go up and down" from week to week with the "spit" that I read on some of the Professional Football Sites.

Not a Jerry Jones fan, do know this . . . . he had the "good sense" to build an offensive line.

Might be that is what Coach Sam Pittman has done in Athens, build an offensive line . . . . for sure the backs in Athens will appreciate that . . . . along with "solid" offensive play calling.

2017, who the heck knows. I agree with a couple of members on Dawgs.com that have said more than once . . . . do not need to hear about too many years down the road.

Maybe should not say this . . . . but . . . . we (UGA) should be a team in 2017 that many do not want to face off with. Notre Dame . . . . eh. Missed our chance at Notre Dame and the National Championship a short time back. Just another "trophy" in Tuscaloosa.

I have no regrets or sadness about players who choose to go elsewhere. I don't know what is any kids heart but it seems to me in this situation that its all about him more than it is about UGA, and that's fine. I want people who want to play for UGA because they want to play for UGA... not ones that want to be at UGA solely because we can give them immediate sigificant PT. Anyway... its not like we can tell Michel and Chubb to move on because we have to make room for a freshman we need to keep happy.

I wish him all the luck in the world at his new choice
of schools.

Georgia's historic in-state recruiting haul

According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Georgia has 10 of the top 20 players in its own state committed. That sounds pretty good. But you don't realize just how good that number is until you look back at the history of recruiting in Georgia.

If that number holds until national signing day, that would be Georgia's best in-state recruiting effort since 2004. Of course rankings could change and players could decommit, but Kirby Smart also may not be done yet. The 247Sports Crystal Ball has Georgia as a favorite to land Top 20 players Aubrey Solomon, Deangelo Gibbs, Nate McBride, Tray Bishop and Markaviest Bryant.

The list of recruits that have yet to commit are impressive, big time.

Solomon Kindley working out with first team offensive line. Coach Pittman is serious about his area of expertise. Say again, hope we never go back to our past and forget that offensive lines have a lot to do with "winning football games". Coach Pittman "understands".
