Open View on Recruiting . . . . And Preparation

Hard for any university to crack into the top or second spots when Alabama and Ohio State continue to win at a pace that others do not.

We are sitting in third at this point, puts a smile on my face, do realize that there is much more to be done.

All of us know that there will be changes when the LOI's are signed. There will definitely be movement on every team listed in the top ten for 2017.

Then we have this . . . .

Star rated two's and three's come prepared to play. Yes, we were out coached and out played. All of the STARS in the world of football rated highly can get their butts kicked when not prepared. Fact. We were not prepared mentally. Football players did not lose their "physical football skills", they were beaten "mentally".

One of the worst defeats of a Georgia Football Team in my many years of wearing the colors Red and Black.

Kirby will have to get over his stubborn streak and let some of this incoming Freshman talent see the field next year. Very little had an impact other than Nauta and Eason this year. Hardman was not used to his full potential last year and was invisible as far as playing time. Will he be Mo Smith's replacement next year at star remains to be seen but he needs to get some offensive and special teams snaps as well.

This is going to be one of the best Freshman classes that UGA has seen in years, but if they don't see the field or get limited playing time what good is a #3 class other than bragging rights. OL is going to be a big concern, just glad we got Hayes coming in to anchor one of the tackle spots (LT?).

Wait and see but with a #3 class and the talent we do have it is going to be make or break for Kirby in 2017.

ogredawg looking at the 2017 Schedule, do not see any particular game that makes me worry too much.

Of course, as said before, some of the lesser rated star players seem to play "up" to those that are rated much higher, rather than some teams with higher rated players playing "down".

4 1/2 games away on the schedule. I still consider JAX away, thus the 1/2.

We've lost the last two home games to Georgia Tech with our lone win out of the past 3 being against a
3-9 Nerd squad.

Let that sink in.

I've looked at the 2017 schedule and don't see anything to worry about at all, but that really doesn't matter
with UGA.

Recruiting class is 3rd... that's great but I'm pretty jaded about it all right now so I'll wait until I see
the players on the field actually doing something... like helping to beat freakin' Tech.

Chubb, Michel, Bellamy and Carter all back.

I'm shocked.

Real good news dawgs_fans_dad.

Quarterbacks and running backs have to like what they "know" about offensive line recruits that we don't. I fully expect to see the same type coaching from Sam Pittman that Erk demonstrated while in Athens, and elsewhere.

Small wonder that the Arkansas players wanted Coach Pittman to remain.
