"POUTY" still a "POUTER" . . . .

8 years 3 months ago #74052 by Buc
Started to comment on "Pouty" opening this can of worms a day or two ago.

"Pouty" has found himself right back to where he was in 2010 or so. Stirring the pot, this is what some of the “Journalists” do when they think they see an opening.

First off, too many of those with the “pen/keyboard” have never had the pads on, secondly, they would have everyone on the internet “think” that they know all there is to know concerning college football. They “fully understand” . . . . RIGHT from WRONG . . . . right?

Question from me and others to "Pouty" . . . .

How many of the young men that have enrolled at the University of Alabama, have prospered from their relationship with Nick Saban? Anyone taking bets or . . . . looking at results? My known factor is that Nick Saban has helped more young men and their families and friends than “Pouty” has ever aided or attempted to help. The list is extensive that Nick Saban has built to this point. "Pouty" ??? He plays for “clicks”. AJC demands “results”. The University of Alabama and other universities demand what . . . . “results”.

I understand that not everyone is on the same page, just “warming up” to a “puppy” that will never accept the fact that now the University of Georgia has a “clone” of Nick Saban. Kirby Smart has his thoughts, but I would bet this . . . . they are not in line with “Pouty”.

Stop for now, but . . . . "Pouty" is just that . . . . a “Pouter”. Coach Smart is aware, as many of us are and have been for a long time.

Go Dawgs . . . . Change has arrived in the Classic City. Out with the “old” and in with the “new” . . . . eh? Bisher and Outlar have "yet" to be replaced in the "AJC Wrapper". Years and years later.

Click bait is AJC and other main stream media's SOP. Their followers do not want to read what is going on as deep as we do here.

The say anything and when they go too far they simply get more clicks. Clicks are eyeballs on the ads. No journalism, just spin. Cheap way to run a news organization.

But not here. Facts, intelligent discussion and historical perspective are all you find at Dawgs.com

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.

Steve, well put. Better than well put, spot on.

As LimeyDawg said recently, hard to beat football talk that starts here (Dawgs.com). He has been around for a long time, spent his time in Athens, understands the game "both on the field and off".

Easy to grade a site by the company it keeps.

See where "Pouty's" pal came to his rescue.

One thing for sure . . . . If the AJC believes they are as influential as they were back in the day, guess again.

Once upon a time we had to get ink on our hands from the AJC newsprint. No longer the case, now there are folks that can play "their game" and many understand the "stuff" that they are trying to pass on does not work this day and time.

Nick Saban followed the SEC Rules. If . . . . if Pouty and some others would take the time to read carefully what actually happed in the previous players reason by Alabama for being allowed to suit up in Missouri, they could refresh themselves in Journalism 101.

One of the "puppies" now reporting for the AJC will at some point understand that "foot in mouth" does not further their "lame points".

The AJC can no longer "control" what the outcomes are in Athens, whether football games or pressers.

There is a new game in town and bet this . . . . FANS not only understand, FANS introduced the "press puppies" to what can be accomplished from sites other than "theirs". FANS chose to "pack Sanford Stadium". AJC, want to take credit for the 93,000 plus + that did exactly what HEAD COACH KIRBY SMART asked for? FANS now have a voice . . . . the INTERNET.

So much of the material that FANS have been exposed to from the "mullet wrapper(s)" is in "many" cases a repeat of what they get from sites like 24/7, Rival and others. Yes many read other sites and change some words, therefore dodging this . . . . an act or instance of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that author's work as one's own.

One needs to be careful, sometimes there are consequences.

Head Coach Kirby Smart was hired for one reason . . . . get the Red and Black back on the "tracks". Will it take 15 years or more . . . . my Crystal Ball says we will be "very competitive" from the get go. Did not say win every game. Said the same thing that Growl, yankeedawg1, SouthernDawg, LimeyDawg, rockdawg, Stevedawg and others have alluded to.

Yes Stevedawg, Dawgs.com is a good place to "push back" against some or much of the "stuff" that the press wants the FANS to believe is the gospel. Yep, those that have never tied their "cleats" or put on pads and "know everything" about college football. I call BS.

Close with this . . . . :)

I think it comes down to relevance. "Pouty" gets scooped by hacks in the right place all the time, so he has to stay relevant to stay paid. The AJC is a major paper in a major market, and it believes that its influence is major, but nothing could be further from the truth. Everyone is working to stay relevant in a world where you're as relevant as your last story, and tomorrow promises nothing.

Same with college football. I like homers, but I also like the opinions a little on the fringe. You have to mix it up. Reporting on this or that player's injury is fact, but a great deal of what passes for "journalism" now is nothing but opinion and conjecture. This is why it's easy to get outdone by someone with a sharper opinion or viewpoint. Somewhere, in the basement of the AJC building, some editor asks himself "tell me why we pay this guy again" on a daily basis. Relevance.

"The freedom of individuals to verbally to oppose or to challenge police actions without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state."

Wish you were posting 24/7.

Keep thinking that there will be a "hire" in Atlanta that makes sense. Pouty was "shelved" once upon a time. Guess some of the billionaires that reside in the Cox Group believe the "inner circle" needs to be protected.

See and read a couple of young "pups" that believe they are now "all that" will find in the end that is exactly what they are/were . . . . "all that".

No longer do the "mullet wrappers" control UGA Football. Say again, there are many "outside the loop" that understand the game. Not privy to the seats in Butts-Mehre, but do have an open forum that really gets down to "positive UGA Football talk".

See where some "sites are growing" . . . . pulling in folks that owned their sites and now choose to join forces and become a group. That is going to change a lot of the "stuff" that once upon a time was controlled by those in Atlanta.

Anyone that believes those in Atlanta don't recognize what is going on out here where "some of us live" . . . . Something about land in Florida that can be purchased at a "reasonable price" . . . .

:)
