BulldogShannon,
Thumbs up. Totally agree.
This is one of several disparate issues that the conference needs to solve across the board, and they need to do it soon. Brett Bielema is already on record saying he uses COA stipends as a "closing" recruiting tool. Why this hasn't been leveled across the board is beyond me. How this can be considered fair is beyond me.
The other issue is the substance abuse & drug testing policy. When you have schools that turn a blind eye to smoking a little weed and impose a disciplinary hold out for a half or whatever, versus Georgia under Richt that suspends the player and pretty much put the player out in public on the gallows to be shamed for his actions, there's a real problem there. I'll be interested to see how CKS handles this. Frankly, I could care less about this "infraction", but the schools have an image to uphold. How they uphold it is the problem, and it needs to be regulated conference wide or at the NCAA level. Without revealing anything that could get an individual University I know well in trouble, I have been "learned" by a wide receiver I was in classes with on how exactly the schools protect the players with the drug testing policy. Let's just say it's not "random." Urban Meyer is no stranger to these tactics, believe me.
