scooby, believe that Smart is in a good position when it comes to hiring or naming a defensive coordinator.

For sure Kirby is going to have his hands all over the defensive side of the ball. Another reason for hiring someone like Chaney to run the offense.

Looking more and more to me like the way things were done at Alabama.

Saban brings in Kiffin and appears to let him run the offense. Saban was never more than an earshot from the defense and the way it lined up and played.

By good positioning of Kirby Smart I mean he has every intention of bringing the right person along to be a defensive coordinator that will be respected for one reason, lessons learned. Learned under his supervision, as it should be, he is the boss.

Kirby Smart was the defensive coordinator for many years under Saban, I suspect we will see the same replay in Athens.

Sometimes names on business cards don't mean a lot. See some of that going on in South Carolina and Miami.

I hate to say this but the masses are dumb_____________, if you know what I mean. Forget the recruiting prowess of those let go. Kirby is looking at field results. WR's? In my opinion pitiful play. Not coached up. TE play? Disappeared.

There is more to it than recruiting, if you can't coach them up. remember Marlon brown?

KS will get fundamental teachers of these young men in here. remember a few years back when Boise got it going? Don't think they dropped 8 balls all year that hit them in the hands. At UGA we dropped 8 balls in the hands in two games.

KS knows that with him, Rocker, and Pittman in town, we will get the studs where it counts: OL and front 7 on defense.

Give me great developers of talent at the skill positions and I'll beat you if my front 7 on defense and my OL is loaded with 5 and 4 stars.
