Believe it or not Shannon, there is a lot of "chatter" in Florida about Georgia Football.
A lot of the talk is not the same "stuff" that some post on the AJC when posting about those South of the Georgia/Florida line.
Many or most down this way are gators and are loyal to the University of Florida. Believe it or not, there are civil conversations about Georgia/Florida football.
Some of my chats with the gators are about the hire of Jim McElwain and what is thought about the hire.
I believe that Jim McElwain is going to be one heck of a head coach. For sure he is surrounded by a lot of talent, year after year.
Takes me to this.
If Georgia had not hired Kirby Smart, I have no doubt that we (UGA supporters) were in for a hard time. Those that have played for UGA knew that change was not only necessary, it was pertinent/relevant that someone had to step up and do their job. No thanks to Francis.
What to say about muschamp in Columbia, South Carolina, believe that was what "they" wanted. If not, why hire?
The East side of the SEC just got a lot tougher than it has been for too long. East side of the SEC has always had D1 players, problem was, some of the head coaches did not know how to take the "talent" to the next level.
Whether or not anyone likes or dislikes Nick Saban, he is the "force" behind the changes being made on the East side of the SEC.
Many years ago, if Erk had been hired to take over as head coach in Athens, might be this conversation would be different.
Say again, Kirby Smart you are starting with a "clean slate". Some of the talking heads are saying that it will take x number of years to catch up with the West side. Same group "Pieces of Spit" that had Auburn winning the SEC Championship and the Final Four.
One question to those that spend their money on "getting the inside information"? Any wiser after dropping your money into the "wishing well"?
Just asking . . . . Maybe Francis knows . . . .
