I stole this from another site to put things in perspective

When Dooley hired Richt...

Bill Clinton was still president.

-The National Debt was $13 TRILLION dollars less than it is today

-The price of Gold was $850/ounce less than it is today

-That Tom Hanks movie where he becomes friends with a volleyball was #1 at the box office

-The world population was 1.2 billion less than today

-Jacob Eason was 2 years old

-The twin towers in New York still stood

-Gasoline cost $1.55/gal

-The #1 song was Tim McGraw My next thirty years - (15 of which are gone now)

-People still used VCRs and bought CDs

Something else to consider...

Nick Saban had just finished his first season at LSU, 8-4

-Urban Meyer had just accepted his first coaching job, at Bowling Green

-Jimbo Fisher was in his first season as Offensive Coordinator at LSU

-Gene Chizik was in his 2nd season as Defensive Coordinator at UCF

-Chip Kelly was in his 2nd season as Offensive Coordinator at New Hampshire

-Les Miles was a Tight Ends coach for the Dallas Cowboys

-Gus Malzahn was in his last season as HC for Shiloh Christian High School, and was about to become head coach at Springdale High School.

-Brian Kelly was head coach at Grand Valley State

All of these guys have since played in a National Championship game before Mark Richt. Let that sink in.

But, lets give him one more year!!!!

ReservoirDawg, reading the article, this too seems like a "replay" from those that still need their bottoms wiped and escorted to the school bus. Actually it embarrasses me that this "puppy wants to deliver a "sermon" to those that read this board and some of the others, but especially Dawgs.com. This is where I play, there is a reason for that. Especially liked reading the "comments" to the garbage, one I will highlight. I just happen to be one of those "older UGA supporters" that wishes he had sat behind you in JAX.

First of all, if you think about booing, screaming at, or denouncing a group of 19 and 20 year old kids playing their hearts out, take a hard look in the mirror. They spend countless hours training, practicing, and studying, to put the best possible product on the field every single week. The last thing they need or care to hear is the middlings of a bunch of 40 year old men, claiming to have all the answers.

And this . . . .

Unfortunately, it appears that Greyson Lambert, Brice Ramsey, and Faton Bauta do not possess the physical tools or intangibles to lead a team through the gauntlet of an SEC schedule. While that is easy to say without a Heisman Trophy candidate in the backfield, 12 points in the last eight quarters is a tough pill to swallow.

Pardon me . . . . who is responsible for the quarterback selections that you mention in the above BS?

And this . . . .

Out of the 27 points Florida scored, 7 of them came on a drive over 25 yards. Unfortunately, the offense could not stay on the field long enough to give the defense a proper rest.

And this . . . .

The bottom line is, unfortunately, yes, here we are again on Halloween weekend, already talking about next year, but these are growing pains every single major college football program goes through. Things will get better. Hope is not lost.

And this . . . .

The administration has put their trust in Mark Richt, and you need to as well. He is dealing with an inexperienced, yet talented team, learning to play together.

THEN THIS . . . . :woohoo:

I have loved the Dawgs since I was 10. I am now 72. This makes 62 years of sticking with MY team. Probably a lot longer than you.
I was in Jax in the stands in 1980. I loved Fran Tarkenton, David Greene, Kevin Butler, all of MY Dawgs I have watched (and listened to) over these years. I will NEVER be anything but a true Red and Black BullDawg.
I sent two children to Georgia, from Florida, where they sacrificed to pay OUT-OF-STATE tuition.
Don’t tell me MY team is not capable of being SEC champs, National Champs, even solar system champs. All you have to do is look at examples of new coaches who have lifted teams into higher statuses. Steve Spruier went to Florida, which had never won the SEC, much less a national championship and delivered. Same story, different conference, for Bobby Bowden. Saban took over LSU and Alabama and took them to the promised land.
The goal for Georgia is attainable and will not be won just by one highly rated QB.
Wake up and get real. We need a Grown-up coach who can win, not pontificate.

Good "lift" ReservoirDawg. Need something to keep the "blood circulating". ;)
