good point Rdawg.." I really have nothing else to say. Repeating myself can only go so far before I am ruled an insane individual."

At this point insanity is 'going to a game expecting to see a W'. Sad but true.

The PR machine is running out of spin. They forget their audience also goes to the games and reads other news sources. The interesting one to watch will be AJC. Will they keep 'their seat' at the PR machine or abandon a sinking ship?

Yeah, I am insane with all this craziness. :S
But at this point watching the craziness is the entertainment.
Another episode coming next week.

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.

For me, writing a letter is a total waste of my time.

CMR isn't going anywhere for 2-3 years.......why? Last gasp effort by the Pres and McGarity that Mr. Eason is going to save the day.

Good luck with that.........

Fear you are right, but hope you are wrong. Let's recap just this season. Start with having to go get a second string QB from a mediocre team in a less than stellar conference. Go from there to "favored to win the east" and "favored slightly over AL". Start well against bad teams. (At least I will give them points for not playing down to lousy talent as bad as they were a few years ago).

Come back to Sanford with high hopes and get crushed in every aspect of the game by a team that actually is what we were supposed to be. Then go to Knoxville and pull out a loss after getting up by several scores early. Again, everything looked bad. Then pull out a win against a hapless MO team that actually scored less then we did. D looked much better; O looked much worse; ST looked about as we have come to expect, since we don't NEED a ST coach. Then on to J'ville for a thumping by the second team QB of the gators. Try Bauta, but once the wheels have fallen off, hitting the gas doesn't really do much. ST disaster (Again).

It used to be fun. Now it's not. There are 117 D1 head coaches. Cull them down to guys under 40. Close your eyes and pick one. Chances are, he'd do better than we have right now.

Ok, I'll write one . . .

Dear University of Georgia,

I attended UGA from 1980 through 1986 and got two degrees while I was there. I currently make a 5 figure salary, amazingly still in my original field of study. Not many students who attended school with me can say the same thing.

The head coach at the University of Georgia makes $4,000,000 PER YEAR. At my current rate of pay, it would take me more than 60 years to make what Richt makes in a SINGLE YEAR. And if my output looked anything like HIS output, I would be in an unemployment line.

We have a defensive coordinator who is currently making $1,300,000 per year. At my current pay rate, it would take me about 20 years to make what Mr. Pruitt makes in a SINGLE YEAR.

We have an offensive coordinator (who hasn't managed to get us into the endzone in the last 2 weeks) who makes $950,000 per year. At my current pay rate, it would take me nearly 15 years to make what he will make in his first year at UGA.

I know what you are thinking . . . you think "they all have very high risk jobs that could cause them to possibly be out of their jobs any year". Or you're thinking "these coaches are putting people in their seats at Sanford Stadium every weekend and therefore are bringing in more money than we pay them annually". I'm sure it's something like that. Simple supply and demand economics, right?

Wrong. I maintain that not ONE COACH in UGA history has "put people in their seats at Sanford Stadium". It's not the coaches. It's the red jerseys and the red hats with the "G" on the sides that do that. You could get literally any coach on earth and you would still have standing room only at Sanford Stadium.

Pay needs to be about PERFORMANCE. A $4 million per YEAR pay rate should REQUIRE more than a mere 70% success rate. It should REQUIRE CHAMPIONSHIPS. Period. Second place finishes (which we haven't enjoyed in the SEC since the end of the 2012 season) are NOT GOOD ENOUGH. And we won't even enjoy second place in our DIVISION this year!

I don't want to hear some sob story about how the competition is so tough and how the university has limited resources. My daughter is a sophomore at UGA, so I KNOW how much money the university is bringing in from tuition alone.

There should be no such thing as "tenure". But the idea of a "tenured" head coach is not just stupid, it's disgusting.

Get rid of the current coaching staff. Not ONE of them can justify their paycheck. NOT ONE.

Sincerely,

thriller

I just noticed that some guy named "Eddie Britt" posted this reply to my letter, on Facebook . . . "You don't sound very educated. Should your company fire you everytime something goes wrong. Grow up and be real about what you're saying. Who's really out there that will do a better job ?"

I noticed he asks a question and ends it with a period. Eddie sounds "real educated" to me.

Pathetic losers like Eddie Britt are the reason we are "enjoying" the season we are "enjoying". I have to admit, I was one of the "Eddie Britts" of this world for a long time - but like Eddie implies, you have to grow up and be real SOMEDAY. Eddie's time for that hasn't gotten here yet.

Eddie - I hope you enjoyed your team's win over my Dawgs this weekend. Once we get a real coach, we'll enjoy returning the favor.

BTW - betcha I am far better educated than you, Gay-Tor fan.
