I learned close to nothing last weekend, and I expect to learn very little this weekend. But I knew that months ago.
What I learned last Saturday:
1. Greyson Lambert is 6' 5" tall, and his passes can still get batted down at the line. By ULM. I'm concerned. He can make throws, no doubt. The question is - can he make throws against GREAT defensive backs when he HAS to? Not sure about that, and probably won't know for a while.
2. We have receivers. Godwin is as good as advertised. MM, when healthy, is as good as having a professional receiver. Again, how good they'll be against D1 DBs remains to be seen, but so far not bad. We're also stacked at TE.
3. Our secondary needs help. Sure, they did okay MOST of the game, but for two drives it was as if they either gave up or just flat got beat. My guess/hope is that up 35-0, they let down. But even that should NEVER, EVER happen. Hopefully that gets fixed.
Even with that, I learned very, very little and expect to learn next to nothing this weekend. The Dandies got beat by the Hill Toppers in their opening "cup cake" game. I don't look for UGA to be even challenged. I want to see Turman get some carries, and hopefully we can get KM some real yards - he is all that. It'll be good to see IM get in the game. Loved the spreading of the ball last week - keep that up. Only 16 carries for The Man means far less chance of injury - good for durability.
