yankeedawg1, reading the article below, proves a point, to me it does.
Having followed closely the changes in the coaching staff at UGA and the different methods of us trying to move forward, have not a single doubt that more than one person has been in MR's ear.
Much of what is going on "now" in Athens was nothing close a short time back.
Never too late for an "old dawg" to learn new tricks or . . . . open ones ears to what is really going on in college football this day and time.
Way I see it, we started to fall way behind when Nick Saban was hired in Tuscaloosa. There is no doubt that many programs in college football, not just the SEC, playing "catch up" as quickly as they can. Many modeling their programs after the Alabama program.
One little thingy . . . . Jimbo Fisher served under Nick Saban and he has a National Championship at FSU. Must be a reason for that.
I have felt from about 2005 on that MR thought he had the answers. Found out that he did not, based on overall improvement. I also believe that at that point he allowed the "stubborn factor" to enter into his coaching.
Seems to me that Saban can lose a coach and quickly there is a waiting list for the job. Program moves in the same direction, winning football games. Alabama fans feel they had an "off season", only made it to the "First Final Four".
If for no other reason I am glad that someone in Athens stood up and said what "needed" to be said.
Yes, Jeremy Pruitt knew "exactly" what he was saying when he said it. McGarity and those in Mahogany Row and the Public Relations Group had a hard time swallowing that pill.
Fast forward, whether or not we ever make it to the Final Four, what Pruitt said got the backing of the "fans".
My thoughts.
