A thought.
Blake Sims played quarterback in Gainesville, Georgia. Had his choice of universities to play for.
What happened to Blake Sims in Tuscaloosa is the same thing that happened with AM in Athens. Both young men had their wheels removed, they were basically grounded. Blake Sims did not become a dual threat quarterback upon his arrival in Alabama, he drove high school coaches in Georgia nuts when he pulled the football down and took off.
Not every young man is going to put in the time and effort that AM did to play "within" the system. Reality is . . . . check Faton Bauta's career out at UGA.
The game played by Alabama and Ohio State. meyer let his quarterback not only throw the football, had approval to run the football, and did.
If we are going to play a pro style offense, live in the pocket, then recruit that way. Totally unfair to young men coming in and wearing headphones and walking the sideline. Will never be convinced that Faton was told that he could not play quarterback at Georgia because of his running ability. Faton would have had a heck of a career at quarterback playing for Auburn and Ohio State, and also when meyer was coaching Florida. A special young talent that has done everything asked of him.
