yankeedawg1, agree.

Have said more than once the following . . . . Comes a time when the "overall football program" at any university will find itself in uncomfortable situations. All or most of us know that.

Mark Richt had a good run in Athens early on. His main mistake then and it lasted too long in my opinion was this . . . . I am not the first to say this . . . . he had taken on the Bobby Bowden way of being "too loyal". While that might sound bad "too loyal", it has cost many head coaches their jobs. Don't have to go through the "list" again, most here know the names.

In a way I call that "selfish". First off the fans and supporters of the football program need "first consideration". Never forget, we pay the bills, also responsible for the salaries, and the salaries are not of the 1950/60/70/80 variety.

Add to the last paragraph. Why did we, Georgia Football have so much change 7/8/9 years later? Some don't like to hear this, but have never been one back away from the truth as I see it. Money, dollars and cents entered the picture. Doubt that, not a problem from where I sit. Money has ruined more than one friendship that I have been around for more years than I care to count. I offer as evidence . . . . Willie Martinez and grantham. Both probably did not fit Georgia Football, they apparently fit those that selected them.

I am excited that we have concerned and teaching coaches arriving in the Classic City. There are SEC teams that have pulled out all of the stops, debt or otherwise to move their programs forward.

Having tried to stay away from too much talk about Terry Godwin recently, now is the time for me to step up. My feelings.

Terry Godwin is first off a "team player" as best I can figure.

Terry Godwin is all about "family" and now his "family" will include Georgia Football . . . . you and I.

Terry Godwin is going to do some "football things" that I doubt seriously any of us have seen before, in Athens anyway. He has been blessed with athletic talent, but above that in my opinion is the "head above his shoulders", blessed there also.

Terry Godwin is not a lot different than Nick Chubb, just plays a different position(s). These two young pups are who will be talked about long after they have moved on to their adult life.

Terry Godwin committed, and now he can spend a lot of quality time with a quality coach . . . . BMac. :) I said that, I believe that. Noticed the change in Isaiah McKenzies stats and plays after BMac took over as receiver coach.

Not hard for me to look over the talent in Athens, and my thoughts go to players like Isaiah McKenzie and others. McKenzie and Godwin look very similar on the football field.

Many of my last posts were spent discussing the defense . . . . which I am a strong believer in.

Terry Godwin will not be Red Shirted. Too much natural talent.

Have this request and it is a serious request . . . . Rob Sales, don't let up on offensive line recruiting. May not mean much, but for sure I will follow you and your recruiting efforts as long as you coach in Athens.

Edit: The first recruiting visit that Pruitt made after moving to Athens . . . . Terry Godwin. Don't think that Bmac will release him to the defense. Young pup cannot be covered, one on one. Watch videos, it is all there.

In this thread a short time back there was a short chat about our punter. I said as I usually do that I don't like to call players out, but have done that on occasion.

Seth Emerson published the article below, quite frankly was glad to see reporting that does not do anything more than speak to the truth or the problem . . . . if it exists. I not only think that the problem exists, it was a problem prior to our punter moving to Athens.

Anyone that has been around SEC Football long enough understands that a punting game (field position) has been the way SEC has played football going back many years. Have never said this about any Georgia player before, meaning openly on this board the way I feel about Collin Barber. Hoping that we have a replacement for him . . . . this season. In a post in this thread I mentioned him not getting the ball in the air quick enough. I watch Barber and feel like I am watching a film in "slow motion". Check what Seth Emerson has to say about the G Day Game. Have replayed the G Day Game along with the film on the 2014 Season. Sorry, worst punter I have seen wearing the Red and Black.

Someday, someone will look closer into our Special Teams and more than likely we will pick up a win because "someone" has done their "due diligence".

Without going further, you might want to read the two articles below. AJC goes back to August 2014.

I wonder how many more games we have to lose before a dedicated special teams coordinator is deemed a necessity. And I don't care about the usual argument of how many other teams don't have one---We NEED one.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!
