We hit two days back to back with temps over 70F spring is teasing.
This week’s Blue Plate Special: NC/SECR-DGS-DGG
NC was SEC ready right out of HS and played as such as a true freshman.
It was a pleasant surprise that we had a quality back already on the team to slide in and take up for TG3.
The reason I bring this up is we have heard that high school players are coming to campus with better skills and football knowledge than in the past.
NC is proof of that.
I am looking forward to seeing him back on the field this season knowing that he is a step away from going all the way any time he touches the ball..
NC -I just wanted to acknowledge your accomplishment and all your hard work before arriving in Athens one more time.
Bonus – A healthy KM and SM…..and Imac….. running behind a veteran OL. Like it……
Dawgs are getting smarter….
This season we are following the lead of other Conference 5 Teams who have expanded their staffs with Quality Control Assistants.
Olten Downs who was HC at Creekside HS (Atlanta) and led them to the State AAAAA Championship this past season has join our football staff.
He will be Quality Control Assistant for the offense.
While these assistants can’t recruit they can interact with recruits while on campus.
The big thing is they can work the player’s current HS coach.
Olten has roots in Atlanta with his fellow HS coaches. A big move to taking back players from the Atlanta area.

Spring camp opens Tuesday which is also St. Patrick’s Day….. I hope Sanford is covered in four leaf clover and we can catch a season’s worth of “Good Luck”.
Yes we are due….in fact way past overdue….
