More 2016 recruiting news: From 247 sports dawgs
Dawgs extend a number of new offers
Thomas Brown was hired as Georgia's new running backs' coach this week and he wasted no time in getting the ball rolling at his position. Amir Rasul (Coral Gables; Miami, Fla.), Kameron Martin (Memorial; Port Arthur, Tex.), and Abdul Adams (Wilson; Washington D.C.) were all given opportunites to play their college ball in Athens this week, and all play running back.
Rasul and Martin are committed to Miami and Baylor respectively while Adams appears to be favoring Michigan State, Notre Dame and Rutgers. Brown also rekindled Georgia's recruitment of Antonio Williams (North Stanly; New London, N.C.) this week and those close to the situation believe that UGA is heavily in the mix for the four-star playmaker.
The Bulldogs also did some work on the defensive side of the ball. Ardrey Kell (Charlotte, N.C.) outside linebacker Julian Okwara also received a tender from UGA and he could project at inside or outside linebacker.
Another offer was extended to an in-state prospect early on Saturday as Peachtree Ridge cornerback Braylen Buchanan reported a tender from the Bulldogs. He is committed to Louisville and is the teammate of top UGA defensive back target Chad Clay.
Major talent in town for first junior day
Junior days have become an important part of the recruiting process and Georgia is holding its first of the season on Saturday. When looking at the visitor list, the news is good for Bulldog fans as it is loaded with top talent from Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.
Top UGA targets E.J. Price (OT - Archer), Jaleel Laguins (LB - Oconee County), Demetris Robertson (ATH - Savannah Christian Prep), Michail Carter (DL - Grayson), and Antwuan Jackson (DL - Cedar Grove) all stated plans to be in Athens for the event. All hold UGA offers and the coaching staff is in hot pursuit of each.

A top target from the Yellow Hammer state will also be in attendance as Central (Phenix City, Ala.) defensive back John Broussard tweeted that he will make the trip. Broussard was in Cobb County last Sunday for the Adidas Showcase so it will be his second week in a row in the Peach State.
Flanagan (Hollywood, Fla.) linebacker Devin Bush and Coconut Creek (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) wide receiver Binjimen Victor are a pair of impressive prospects from the Sunshine State who will also be in Athens.
Those are all prospects from the 2016 class, but a talented group of 2017 standouts will spend time in the Classic City, too. Vidalia linebacker Nate McBride, Cedar Grove cornerback Tre Shaw, Westlake linebacker Jaden Hunter, and Mary Persons defensive lineman Malik Herring are all expected to attend.
One to Watch
We touched on the situation with Antonio Williams earlier but there is a deeper story here. Williams is currently committed to Wisconsin where Thomas Brown was his primary recruiter.
The 5-foot-11, 210-pound four-star recieved an offer from UGA early on and many believed the Bulldogs were in good shape at that time. Brown was able to persuade him to give the Badgers a shot where he committed to play his college ball in Madison in early December.
A large part of that decision was Brown's ability to recruit and develop talent, but now that the former UGA play-maker is back in Athens, how will that affect the Top247 runner?
UGA is closer to home than Wisconsin and with his primary reason for wanting to play for the Badgers now in Athens, that makes this One to Watch."
