I've seen film on Ramsey. He did have limited attempts, but a lot of those attempts were
down the field in the middle to deep range. During those attempts it was evident he had
a pretty good cannon. He was also accurate on those deep throws. Plus he didn't turn the
ball over as he usually threw 17-19 TD's with only 2-3 ints.
Most who recruited him projected him to develop into a pocket pro style passer despite his
HS offensive scheme. The key word there to me was "develop", because he was a bit behind reading D's and didn't always display great footwork because of the lack of attempts/experience: All correctable with time and a good QB coach.
To me the issue is that he was a great kid to take a chance on if he would redshirt and then get an additional 2 years learning as the #2 guy.. taking over as a junior (eligibility wise). The redshirt part happened, but not the other. I think here he may be thrust into the starting role 1 season too early, taking the job as a redshirt sophomore instead of junior.
That is however the situation we are in if Bauta has been brushed aside, unless Park can step up and prove he's more ready. I'm also not just brushing off Ramsey in 2015 either, but I think it's obvious he's going to need to really step up from what we've seen so far.
God Bless and Go Dawgs
