With the size of his family (what does he have now, about 20 kids) he's pretty entrenched in Athens I would think.
Not sure that I understand the first paragraph wlayton.
I do understand the "if" in the paragraph.
Best I recall, Mike Bobo accepted the raise given to him after Greg McGarity became Athletic Director.
If it is not a "money issue", I would assume that he is satisfied with current wages and Pruitt/grantham's pay scale shows one thing . . . . they are more "qualified" at what they do on the football field, therefor money is not the reason that Mike Bobo talked with the folks in Colorado.
I am one of those that believes Mike Bobo has coached to "his ability" in Athens. Regardless of what anyone thinks, there has been a lot of conversation both for and against Mike. That is called "as the wheel turns".
If I have many children that I am responsible for, money is definitely an issue. Don't buy into Mike Bobo being happy with the current scale.

I'm not saying he doesn't want to make more money...everybody likes to make more money, I'm simply saying that perhaps money isn't THE most important thing to Bobo. It's only natural to look into moving higher up in the coaching ranks etc. Being successful isn't always measured by net worth. Maybe in his mind it's time to look into opportunities.
Until then, I was saying it is refreshing to see loyalty and it has zero to do with CTG being assumed a better coach. Bobo is obviously happy, his family must be happy in Athens...good on him imo that he has been loyal to the university.
Rare these days among the many money prostitutes in coaching.

Bobo may have been told some things to make it worth his while for him to stick around...maybe some things that are not truthful but HE believes them...

I'm in the money business and want to make plenty like everybody else does but there IS some things more important than making money. My brother/partner and I have been offered numerous times to "walk across the street" to another firm for serious money up front but we feel there are just too many factors that are more important than the money to move etc.
No, imo money isn't everyting to everyone. Security sure, but to many people, there are certainly other things to consider.

Takes me to this . . . . I believe/know that Mike Bobo has been "loyal" to the University of Georgia. No reason for me to think differently. Taking that a step further, and this is where the rubber meets the road . . . . apparently those above him are "loyal" to Mike Bobo as long as he will accept less than other offensive coordinators that are employed by universities with much less "coin" than our university has and "controls".
Appears to me that there has been a lot of "bait and switch" going on in the hands of those who do not seem to appreciate anything other than money in the vault.
McGarity/Richt did not seem to have a problem with the contract that they extended to grantham after he made the trip to Louisiana. That in my mind backs McGarity/Richt into a corner . . . . what they did for a defensive coordinator that in my opinion was not "loyal" to UGA, received a handsome raise.
I will certainly be watching to see how this plays out under Richt/McGarity.
You said below and I don't think there is any disagreement on what you said.

Turn about is fair play.
