Some talk going around about Ellis Johnson being questioned about his defensive stance at this point.
Will say this. Ellis Johnson is one of the best defensive coaches in college football. With this chatter going on, one can bet that this will have Auburn's defense a bit more on edge, ready to play.
This is Georgia/Auburn, not much more needs to be said. Game was played in Columbus, Georgia until the late 1950's. That much animosity between the two.
Lots of things going on during the week of the game. Coaches are doing and saying "little things" that are meant for the players and fans alike to think about.
Our offensive line continues to improve, and of course we know what we have lined up behind them.
Same can be said for Auburn, they have a very good offensive line, and they have talent lined up behind them.
Did notice that our head coach has Leonard Floyd and Lorenzo Carter listed as co-starters. That is Pruitt serving notice the importance of having a hard week of practice if you want to play. Both of these young men will have "steam" coming out of their ears this week. Called coaching them up.

growl, really hoping that Leonard Floyd will help keep the Auburn quarterback on the inside, same can be said for Lorenzo Carter. Two speedy linebackers that often line up on the defensive line, we know that Pruitt likes the blitzing game, just need to concentrate on trying to make Franklin do some serious "guessing" as to where the blitz will come from. Pruitt seems to be good that.
Also like their offensive line having to pass protect. Anyone remember Georgia/Auburn the last time we played them . . . . forced a throw from Franklin and of course we had a "messy up" in our secondary. Pruitt is a believer in keeping the football in front of the defensive backs. That can make completing the shorter passes a bit easier.
Gap control is a "must" for us in this game. Will be interesting to see how Pruitt/Rocker line up. Think they will try and force Auburn to play inside. Wrap'em up is a must.
Edit: Meant Nick Marshall in the above . . . . not Franklin . . . . getting old (sure sign)

Repercussions of this game will be of the 2-3 year kind.
I sincerely hope our coaches have their heads some where other than up their cans, and I hope the players are ready.
We could be feeling this one for a long time. Don't lay an egg.
They won't....
WD, imo, we seem to lay eggs when the media, fans and the whole world start patting the players on the back telling them how great they are.....over confidence.
When the Dawgs are "jacked" they are very tough to beat....when jacked, natural talent and abilities take over, no over thinking, just play ball.
We may get beat but not because we won't be ready.....
