Went back and read this entire thread. Reason? Anyone paying attention to the "movement" that M&M/Disney is putting on now. Many, not just one of the "Group" are pushing hard on the "tube" for the return of urban "liar" meyer and Ohio State.
Cannot say loud enough how the start of the "Committee" played into the hands of those outside of the SEC. Remember some of the posts about urban "liar" meyer (one of the ESPN brothers) never will be counted out. Folks we are down to the part of the "SEC buyout" kicking us in the brassies.
Seems now that Ohio State is head and shoulders above many, especially the SEC teams. Keep saying this, the M&M/Disney Group now has total control, that is the only way they enter into any "deal". Anyone that believes that many of the SEC commentators are not on board with the "Group", hang around there is definitely more to come. Paychecks are the name of the game. Group knows that game, well.
Think this is the end? Stay tuned.
This is what rockdawg had to say about this situation 1 week and 4 days ago, Post #17 in this thread.
Anyone think they are setting SEC up? Miss and MS will play, eliminating one. AL and AU will play, eliminating one. If Notre Dame, Oregon, etc keep sitting up just out of the top four, then they will jump in at the end, and the SEC will be screwed. Then they can point back and say, "we had three SEC teams in the top four back in October."
Keep an eye on this one. Don't watch top SEC teams... watch who's poised to jump in when they lose to each other. Notice that UGA is waaay down the list of one-loss teams.

It's not even a question folks...
4 teams was the chosen path because it served two purposes:
It somewhat placated the playoff crowd by adding an extra revenue generator.
It will keep the SEC from dominating the NC picture.
No question at all.
