sflanagan21, an absolute solid post.
Since coming to this board, you have never been a middle of the road poster. Guarantee you that is appreciated by most that come to this site.
I still have high hopes that Douglas will line up in the fullback or blocking back position. He really wants to get on the field, believe that he will before all is said and done. In my mind, he is the same type player that Maxey is, more overall talent, but Douglas is a "football player", makes no damn difference where he lines up and that includes Special Teams.
So it is being passed along this week that we are deep into the "silent count". If we can pull that off and, allow me this, not meant to be too ugly, keep Theus on the same page, it will instill much confidence into our offensive line, do not believe that South Carolina could handle that. Crowd noise can also work against their defense if we do well with the "silent count". Might see their defensive troops waving their arms.
Your words on "tempo" are perfect. Believe that South Carolina is still a bit "confused" after watching their game with ECU. We both know that their defense will be "spying". That in itself could pay dividends for us. Works both ways. Not telling you anything, you are still coaching.
Going to say this . . . . Hutson Mason was known for "accuracy" when he signed on with the Red and Black. I believe that is going to be "one" of the "payoffs" in the "victory" over South Carolina. I really don't have too many thoughts about Hutson not getting it done in Columbia. Surrounded by a truck load of talent, everyone needs to understand the word often used here and elsewhere . . . . team work. Saw that happen in the second half of the Clemson game.
Good read sflanagan21.
