Enjoy yourself and be ready as CJP stated to hit it on the 18th
It is my understanding that CJP and his staff want to build a better version of last year’s FSU defense at Georgia- a very good thing
This may take longer than a season however,
We expect to see measurable improvement starting with game one
FSU played and defeated both SEC teams it played last year
The challenge here is to build a defense that is capable of winning 9 games against
SEC opponents (8 season and the SECCG)
We could well be looking at the future of both the SEC and college football’s defenses being built here in Athens
Why not ?
This is not impossible as CJP is an innovator and not an imitator
He is always seeking to improve
CJP understands that the offenses in the SEC our different than in the ACC
For that reason I think you will see some minor differences between what was played at FSU and were we are headed with our “D”
No question that CJP wants the same or better results but having spent time at Bama he is aware of how the game is played in the SEC

He looks like a HS coach walking through what he was thinking so it could be understood by those he was teaching-yup there’s that word again
Why I think CJP is going to be in Athens for awhile
Out of sight wonderful “if” our “D” is so far off the chain it takes us
Beyond any of our expectations this year –please fill in your expectations here…………………………………
Unlike Towel Toddy IMO - CJP is building a solid no BS smoke and mirror defense that is capable of beating any type offense it plays game after game thought the development of position depth and skills.
This is done by teaching one step at a time then moving to the next
While doing well one year would perk his stock and might get him a
HC job it would be no were near the impact as if he builds a resume of success over several seasons
This would add credit to the type players he has recruited and developed –His guys doing it his way
My thinking CJP wants to stamp his name as the premier DC in the SEC which would translate to the best or one of the best in college football
I see this taking more than one or two years
3 seasons of steady improvement with a SEC championship plus a trip to the playoffs would add wealth to his career
Then the conversation about his future would gain speed both at UGA and elsewhere
Been said here and I agree
It is fun to have something positive to talk about
