From Athens- This and That

Good Morning All,

I have been in a pondering and reflective mood all week about our
Football team

Most of the noise is coming from the 2015 in state recruits saying that their home school is in the hunt

In most cases UGA leading the way, yes it is early but none the less good news

I don’t see this group of coaches slacking off or missing returning phone calls yes it’s a very good thing

There was a small amount of coach speak this week but as we approach spring ball that is to be expected

It wasn't as bad as in recent past years

As it has been shared here I am also disappointed in Mac’s token raise for CBM

IMO this will come back to haunt us

One long shot he is waiting for CBM to receive an offer and then he will counter knowing what number he has to beat

CMR knows CBM is worth more as does Mac they also knows he will continue to bust his tail with or without the 15K raise

Plain BS no way to spin it any other way

Buc thanks again for sharing your memories about the tracks

Sorry they are gone. They could have been made into an added feature for Sanford.

Not many Green Monsters left in sports, progress?

Read this week where some schools giving up their spring games and making it just another practice

I hope we don’t see that here

Truly it is a open practice anyway were we can go hang out, tailgate and get ready for the long summer until fall camp opens with old friends and meet new ones

NE Georgia Food Bank is the big winner as everyone attending the game has to make a food donation to get into Sanford for the game

Win-Win and feel good about it

Part of my pondering was after the IC mess and thinking would we ever have a running game

Enter two freshmen who made short work of that worry

This leads me to the JHC dismissal

JHC and IC both were all about themselves

JHC was in the car with IC when he was busted having a firearm on campus it was a forecast of his future problems at Georgia

It would become a fact that all they players riding with IC that night turned out a waste of time and effort for our program

I feel like we will see another player/players step up and be more productive in his position

Call me crazy won’t be the first or last time but I just have a vibe that the defense we will reward us with as favorable surprise this year

CJP is going about molding his defense. Guys are slimming down working on getting faster. RD wants to play at 275 this fall he wants to be quicker off the edge =good night!!

Unlike Toddy with just one star position CJP wants to have the front 7 to be fast and versatile

I like us home with a jacked crowd for our first game

yankeedawg1, seems we take one step forward and one or two backwards. Have a hard time understanding some of the "chatter" that comes from our AD and HC.

Since Pruitt's arrival we have seen more young men from the State of Georgia looking in our direction than in previous seasons. That is a good thing.

McClendon, Rocker and Pruitt, along with Bobo, makes for a formidable recruiting group. Me thinks that we had better enjoy it while we can. Sure to be losing some or all of the aforementioned names in a relatively short time. Offers are just around the corner for the four names mentioned above. Nature of the beast.

Here is hoping that you folks are beginning to ease into Spring. Guess this Sunday morning we "spring forward" on our clocks and watches.

You bring up some interesting and thought provoking points in your thread. Will look it over more than once.

Back again yd1. The paragraph below is exactly what I am talking about when I post on this board . . . . Richt stay out of the way. If he continues along this path, chances are we will see some progress.

I just wonder how long MR's ego can take it,when the coaches we've just brought onboard all mention working under CNS. Sooner or later MR is going to want his stamp on it again.

What exactly does Coach Richt do, other than administer?
Job description is head coach.

What CMR acknowledged is having a fresh set of eyes looking at what we do is a good thing

For now holding off that his ego will prevent this type of thinking to expand
