Hard not to get a "little" pumped about Pruitt but ogredawg and many others are so right.....show me.....PLEASE show me.
Anyway, for me, the bottome line is I loved the way FSU's D played and hope he brings the same to Athens.
Play fast, simple with NO confusion. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: (3 for ya

wlayton wrote: Yes Buc, totally agree. FSU's D played fast, aggressive, relentless and without CONFUSION. Like you have said many times, they rotated inside consistently....keeps the big boys fresh.

Good stuff wlayton. Thank you.
That is exactly what Seattle did yesterday, played fast, simple with NO confusion. Your words. First time in a long time that I have seen Manning upset or confused, and he was. Shows what a strong defense can do, without a lot of "complicated schemes". Think Pruitt teaches a "reading game". His words, use you eyes. Watching the FSU defensive film, can see the message was given and practiced by FSU players on the way to the NC.

As we all know (but lately swayed a little by the rules favoring the offense), great D wins championships and last night was a "text book" example.
Seattle's D made Manning look like Blaine Gabbert here in Jax....
Oh, btw, you are dead on about Erk....watched his whole career. I will always have those memories before every Ga/Fla game with blood running down his forehead from head butting his players.
The good ole days when you felt much more confident and RELAXED because you knew our D would always be there and keep us in the game if not win it outright by themselves.
(sorry averagedawg, must have been posting at the same time)

Bud Grant had a huge impact on Pete Carroll. Little piece about the relationship below.
Paul Wiggin, Minnesota Vikings defensive line coach during Carroll's tenure: "There was something there about Pete that Bud Grant saw. The thing that was so interesting about Pete is that he always studied Bud. Pete has football genius about him. He knows how to simplify and unscramble. The thing that's neat about Pete is that, when he calls a meeting, players will look forward to going. I think Pete will be an overwhelming success. I would bet on Pete Carroll."
I am hoping that our players get that warm fuzzy feeling about Pruitt, such as the description above about Pete. Pruitt gets a "free ride" at UGA. As an assistant, could not ask for anything more.
