Go Dawgs!
From Athens- Looking for some sizzle was created by yankeedawg1
Good Morning All,
Early on in my work life a mentor taught me that you need to sell is the sizzle not the steak.
With Towel Toddy the sizzle in Georgia football after our loss to the Huskers was gone
Heading into NSD we had zero buzz factor and looking at a rerun of the 2013 season, yuck!
Yes CJP has yet to prove nada on the field with his new position at Georiga I understand and agree however,
As it he shown with his previous coaching positions he is able to teach football skills
He impressed Saban and Fisher enough to earn their endorsements.
With him and his new staff we have some sizzle going into NSD
Still feel we will flip a name player late to come play in Athens
Buc thinking about your question about his statement wanting to work for/with CMR
It was the 2003 CMR he was impressed with, it is now 10 years hence may explain some of his thinking
IMO he wanted back into the SEC and the opportunity to build a winning history with an eye at a HC position in the near future
That opportunity might be in Athens
Again not to get the cart ahead of the horse but………
I had coffee with an ole Dawg and he thinks the KS has missed read the tea leaves.
His take is that other than Georgia there was no talk about him being looked at as a HC
This may be what he called the Muschimp Factor with his failings at UF
No AD wants to hire a HC who lacks experience and a winning record
Unless you are Louisville, retread “U”
Enjoy the Super Bowl and Wednesday
Hey Greg thanks for all you do
Pause and give thanks
Have a great weekend and a safe week
As always “Go Dawgs”!!!

YD1, I agree on JP being a HC within 3 years. Could be at UGA. I do think JP would want to work with even the 2014 version of CMR. JP knows he can get the defensive talent, and he knows that if his defense is on par with Van Gorders, UGA can win it all--and winning a NC at 2 schools, and one of those schools being in the SEC, gets him many many HC offers.
Good post as always.

JP a savior and now a future HC. 1 year as a DC and now being touted as cmr's replacement without even coaching a game at UGA. Seems we were saying the same thing a few years ago.
No one really knows that much about the coach, and cmr will rein him in just like he did with ctg. cmr is not worried about his job one bit. He will coach at UGA as long as he wants to coach there and CJP will be long gone by then...

Hope your day goes well yankeedawg1, watching the weather, know you folks are having a rough go. Been through more than one ice storm in Atlanta over the years. Traded that in for a little more Southern Comfort.

Thanks Buc. We missed the real nasty mess that ATL enjoyed truly the only way IMO would have shut the schools and gov the night before. Once it started and then they blew the whistle to send everyone home which then chocked a already taxed traffic mess
10-4 on the SC
Let me add a footnote to CJP becoming a HC. IMO
As I posted above it was early to clarify it is extremely early to think in terms of him as A possible replacement for CMR
Also I spoke that he has done nada at Georgia even if he recruits and flips several 5* players as it has been pointed out we have recruited talent before and done little or nothing with it
However, looking back over the recent pass years in college football one could find examples of stranger out comes than a one year DC raising to a HC position. Again this will be results driven. He lives up to the billing then offers will come
Another factor in play is the NFL. First things first, be a success in Athens
On the subject of CMR staying out of the way Much like the mystery of how much he controls CMB
Will say that it was highly unlikely that CJF and CJP. Didn't converse with some direct input from CJF

Good post, and understandable. Bothers me sometimes when being basically called out for my reasoning, when I am trying to "reason". Have always respected my elders, part of my Southern Heritage. I do however stand my ground and while I respect others rights to their opinions, I have a right to mine.
It appears that much of the nation thinks that the job by "management" in Atlanta was bungled, that is the way I feel about Georgia's head coach. He has had a lot more time to get the house in order than did the Mayor and Governor in Georgia. Warning signs for the head coach have been up for far too long with nothing being said or done.
Trying to keep my thoughts of opposition or clarification of thoughts in another thread. Not trying to encroach on others threads.
Said several times yd1, no more, paid my dues, time for serious consideration on select positions in Athens.
That's all.
