I would like us to move past making the same mistakes over and over

Lacking the hiring of a ST coach then put one assistant coach on the task

And put quality players on ST at the start of the season not as an after though

Remove the drama from punting the damn football

Go Dawgs!

Have thought about this post a lot.

Now comes an article from Marc Weiszer that tries to explain some of the problems that have been mentioned in this thread.

Many trying to explain what happened in 2013. Some of the comments are acceptable to me, other parts back up what was expected to be said by the "coaching(?) staff".

Again in his own little twisted way, grantham is not a stand up man/coach.

We have read parts one and two of the media showcase that the coaches want all to read and agree with. Now comes part three.

Once again, EXCUSES for a lack of coaching. Players going to the NFL, players transferring, injuries, youth and it goes on and on. I have read this same line about our team for many years now. Next year, we will again go through listening and reading "coach and media speak".

As far as youth, we are not the only team in the SEC that were faced with replacing starters. We did however manage to finish well behind others that were faced with the same or similar problems.

What would I do/not do if I am to complain? First off, I realize we have youth. So what do I do? Give them the toughest defensive learning system I can coming directly from high school? I do know that Jarvis Jones said grantham's system is much tougher than the system employed in the NFL. Do I think that JJ is blowing smoke? Nope, not his style. How can these young men be expected to grasp such a system in such a short time? How are they going to play "fast" when they do not understand the system. Some of the young pups we have for a short time, if anything are being cheated by grantham's system. He is ruining the chances of some when the NFL draft rolls around for them to qualify. Lots of talent, can't say the same for the coaching. I call BS.

Players leaving for reasons unknown to us, then we hear in the link below how that hurt the team. I know this, #5 looked like hell for over 3/4 of the year and he has been in the system as long or longer than anyone. He still "blew" plays, why? Because he did not know where he was supposed to line up or who to cover. FACT. Needs to improve his skill set before mentioning others. That is a page from grantham's book. Excuses.

Just can't buy most of the garbage that is being passed out. mark richt saying improvement needed in the secondary, brings to my mind the words he has used over and over in the media. Going to take charge and fix Special Teams. Sounds exactly like what I hear coming out of Washington, D.C., from someone that says they will fix things and then they hop Air Force One for a Hawaiian vacation.

I simply think that the current leadership in Athens think that they are entitled. Roman Empire once thought that way.

Will stop, can say the ugly things in another thread.

Meant to say this in my last post.

Public relations is really gearing up, will hear a lot of very positive things about next season. That is their job, coaches and media folks depend on you and I for support. Support those 8-4 seasons. Then tell us how they will be fixed for 2014. Again, yearly BS.

Things like winning the National Championship or playing in the final four, or a BCS bowl.

The PR folks are doing their job, it is required to show what the group in Athens want us to believe. Follow the money.

We have never wanted anything less than a National Championship, those of us out here paying the bills agree with Nick Saban's theory . . . . National Championship, not just winning the division. Winning the division keeps the coaches and others in Athens happy and content.

Comes time for toe to meet leather in 2014, the BS stops and SEC play starts. No place to hide.

Notice how we are hearing more from grantham . . . . he was damn near mute when the castle was crumbling. Even stopped chewing gum in his interviews . . . . they don't read or follow blogs . . . . right?

yankeedaw1, hard for me to keep my mouth shut. Probably the latest posts that I elected to put in this thread should have been placed in the other thread.

So. Don't know for sure of course how many on this board that do post and the many more that don't have seen some of the folks our SEC schools are chasing in 2014. There is a lot to be discussed just looking over the recruits, where they might land and who in particular wants and probably will get them.

I have many wishes listed in the link below.

Also know that we got two offensive linemen that will probably see action in 2014. In particular, Dyshon Sims. Have commented on Dyshon before, Greg has much to say about him. He has the talent and all of the other tangibles that good offensive line coaches are after. Coach Friend is definitely getting one of the "Golden Eggs" that we want . . . . and need.

There are others on the list that I know something about, some of it coming from folks that I know in the "look/see business" of evaluating young men. Surely there are those on this board that have some insight to certain players they have watched in high school, or heard "noise" about.

Watch out for Tennessee, they are making a strong push to get back to competing. Jones is on a mission.

Buc no need to keep your thoughts to yourself. Spoke to this issue last year about how the traffic

Tampers down at the end of the season. Picks up as we head to NSD. Then slows again until spring ball. Summer drags until csmp opens

Left to us diehards to stoke the fire and haul the ashes. Hang in there Bro. Need your presents in foxhole

Go Dawgs.
