Buc, I agree with the article, but I do not necessarily agree with the plan. Imagine if every single ticket holder cancelled season tickets, and absolutely no one showed up to the games. Sure, point would be made that we aren't happy with the coaching staff, but who would really end up suffering. It wouldn't be CMR. He would get fired and get a mega-million buyout so he is still going to get a bunch of more money regardless. If we want CMR gone, we would have to spend more to afford that buyout. The only thing it hurts IMO is the players and will eventually hurt the whole student body.
I know that is taking it to the extreme because that would never happen, but the ultimate goal of that theory is to have people quit showing up and spending money. I am not happy with what is going on in Athens. That is not strongly worded enough, but I am not going to stop spending money because players and students also count on that money. Sure CMR and CTG get there hands on it, but their contracts are already set. They already have their money. The only people who would see cuts would be the players. Players would get less benefits, traveling would get worse, facilities would not be updated. All those things would really negatively impact current players and future commits.
I am not saying anyone is wrong for doing that. Simply saying really sitdown and think who that is going to effect. Sure it is going to get CMR out, but there is going to be a lot more turmoil than just getting rid of a HC.
If it ends up costing kids like Aaron Murray, Garrison Smith, and all the others who have put everything they have into representing UGA, I am not for it.
